**Group Buy: Gobi Racks and accessories**

No need to drill anything. The rack mounts to the original stock locations and the fronts are supported with padded "feet". The rack is very secure this way. The install is pretty simple.
 
Ranger vs Stealth - a question

Hi, I'm interested and trying to make a decision on the stealth vs the ranger. I've done some searching for pics of each installed. It seems that they're both the same structurally but the stealth's top bar is a few inches lower than the ranger. Given this I'd think the ranger ovides a bigger "basket" but also increases the max height clearance whereas the stealth is a lower basket, while still providing a lip to prevent objects sliding off, while also providing a lower max height clearance.

Is that about right? Anything else that differentiates the two functionally or asthetically?

Probably more wind noise with the ranger...But I like it...:guitar3:
Besides, if you were to tie up dead people on the roof rack and the rope broke...The would more likely stay on the ranger rack as oppose to rolling off.

You are correct in your assessment. The ranger is a few inches taller in height. Everything else is the same. I will get the exact specs once I get to a computer. You will definitely get a little bit more wind noise with the Ranger.
 
HD Struts and most accessories are in stock and ready to ship. Racks are at a 2 week lead time. All PM's have been returned.
 
Ok so a few questions, I am going to be ordering a stealth with ladder here soon. Do you recommend one HD strut or two? Also I am planning on mounting 3 Rigid SR's up front, (2 10's and a 20). Is it worth it to send them to Gobi for the mounting or is it simple enough to attach them myself?

$145 for a set of two!? :eek: I just re-confirmed with my girlfriend - she paid $90 for the set when she bought mine...

I was quoted 90 as well. I won't be getting them though as my rack and ladder make contact so no need to add a stronger strut to damage the powder coat on them.

As you know I have two beefy struts installed with the same setup as yours, and while there is contact there is no real damage being caused. I've had it that way for about two months now. Even if there is damage a year from now I'd still rather not have to duck every time I open the tailgate over having a bit of rust on a utility rack/ladder. But, that's just like my opinion, man.

Mine lifts all the way to the contact point so I don't think ill get any extra lift, unless it puts enough pressure on the rack to sink it in a bit to gain lift.
 
I have a little bloody hole in my bald(ing) head because the M*%$^#F&*^%$g hatch doesn't go up all the way up all the time...

Happened today while loading my girls' Easter baskets in Virginia. After I blurted out an expletive or two( it freakin hurt!!), my 4 yr old said: "Daddy, that's not nice words to say! I'm going to put you in Time Out unless you say sorry, OK?" I also got a mean look from my Mother... I went to Time Out.

FJCRUZR- I'm waiting to hear back from Gobi about the pricing. That was the price they told me last I had talked to them. I will report back once I receive more info.
 
The HD struts MSRP at $140. I will be selling them for $135 which includes shipping. Those members getting them for $90 were ones that had issues and Gobi was hooking them up to make up for their mistake.

I guess I just got lucky because I didn't have any issues and i got them for $90.
