Alright so I wanted to throw up some (bad) pictures of my switches tonight.

I finally had the time to fab up the bracket for the knee airbag so I could get my switches in (pictures of the bracket will be up later).

This is why the bracket is needed...

And here are my switches installed and wired and lit up!

They look awesome, just like stock. The black plastic on the switches and switch holder match almost perfectly so it looks like they belong. Also all my switches are amber text and green images (green only shows while its on). This also perfectly matches stock.

You MAY notice that once switch (on the far left) is the opposite, green normally and amber when on.

This is a 100% custom switch that I designed and had the guys at OTRATTW make up for me. It is my safety switch that must be flipped before any of the other switches will work. Here is a shot of it.

The wires are already run for the rear switch panel but I am just waiting on the faceplate for that to be CNC'ed from front panel designs. Should be here Friday.

Front Switches:

So to mount the rest of the switches, I decided to try and fit a 6 switch holder into the center console.

I ordered a replacement of the black part of the console from toyotapartssales.com just to play around with and this is what I came up with...

OEM part:

Need to fit the 6 switch holder in the lower compartment:

So out comes the razor blade...the holder is to long to fit between the two raised half circles on either end...so my solution was just to cut one circle out and leave the other, this leaves just enough room. This is what I came up with:

Here is the piece that I cut out, and the blade I used. Just go slow and be patient if you do it by hand.

If you are careful you can leave this clip on the front of the panel to make sure it snaps in tightly when it goes back into the truck. You can see the clip on the thin part right here:

I really like how this fits, it looks stock! It goes into the truck this weekend to get all wired up!

Yea for sure, I've got to pop that panel off again this weekend to run the wires to the new switches in the center console so I'll take off the bracket and take a bunch of pics for you. Give me a day or two but I'll get them up here.

So, with a manual transfer case, it looks like you can fit 3 switches there, right?

The number of required switches for my planed mods seems to expand rapidly from what I originally planned for.

Correct, 3 would be the max. The transfer case shifter cuts off that long portion I cut out to fix the 6 switch holder.

I know the feeling, I spend forever researching where I was going to cram all these switches and still make it look good.

Lights are in house. Also my panel from Front Panel Express came in and looks great!

I will have more updates this coming weekend and next week. Unfortunately my girlfriend and her family is moving across the country (Baltimore to Oregon - Anyone have any job openings in Oregon? Haha) on Wednesday, so I have been very pre-occupied. It's killing me with these lights just sitting here staring at me all weekend though!

Grantk I'll get you those pictures as soon as I can.

I just bought RI lights for the front and back and I have the 3 panel set-up for the rockers. I am going to put it in the same spot on the dash as you did.

Couple of questions:

Did you buy the 630 packard connections for the wires?
If so, what did you use to crimp them?

I have been looking for the crimper and I really don't want to pay upwards of $75 for the tool that I may never use again.

No, I talked to the guys at OTRATTW about those connectors but they said it really isn't worth it for exactly the reasons you described. I just ended up getting this:

Morris Products 11976 Female Disconnect, Double Crimp, Nylon Fully Insulated, Blue, 16-14 Wire Size, 0.032"X0.250" NEMA Tab (Pack of 100): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

You could look for a smaller quantity but this was a good deal for me because at 5 per switch I needed almost 90. This is the size you need though. You can just use a normal crimper for these and just some heat shrink. Thats what I did. I made wiring harnesses for them prior to install and just plugged them all in once I was in my truck.

I'll have more updates this weekend. But here is the bracket I made for the dash so my switches would fit:

I'll have the dash apart again a few times in the next few days so if you need more angles or anything just let me know and I'll snap them for you soon. I still have to round over the edges and paint it, but this is the general shape that works for me.

I am waking up bright and early tomorrow morning to install my lights!

Also, getting close on the TE parts...

This is still a few weeks out though. Hopefully the TE conversion will be done by the end of August.

Then I will officially have a 4Runner with an identity crisis. I will have a 2010 Limited with TE Conversion and a Hilux Surf Badge....can't wait to see how that looks...:lol:

Well I got a later start than I anticipated, but I finally got it done.

Taking the bumper off is annoying. But once you figure it out, it's not that bad. I had a bit of wiring difficulty which I got hung up on for a while (they sent me 2 harnesses when I only needed one, I just didn't know that). And then I blew my DRL fuse wiring the halos in. But hey. It all worked out.

Only thing now is that there is literally NO extra room for ANYTHING under my hood. It was a job and half just trying to figure out where to our the ballasts and CCFL inverters. Anyway. I will post more pictures later. But here is the final product:

Did they paint the high-beam housing? You not going to run high beams anymore?

Looks mean as hell by the way. How was the wiring for the halos?

The projectors are bi-xenon FX-R's, so they have both high and low beam in the same housing. The OEM high beam is painted so there is just an LED bulb in there for show. It throws off a cool white glow with the painted reflector.

I wired the Halos right into the DRL's. I remember hearing from someone that you shouldn't do this, or that it wouldn't work. Buttttttt it works. And the cool thing about this is that they blink with my turn signals, which just looks awesome. So they were pretty simply to wire. I need to get a white bulb for my DRL's now to match the halos.
