What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Installed this bike rack I just got in the mail. Pretty inexpensive, but suitable for my needs. Took a trip around to see how it holds up, with the bike on it. So far pretty sturdy and quiet.

We have a similar bike rack to that and it works great. Compared to the kind of rack you usually see it's a piece of cake to load and unload. The wife's sister was having a heck of a time loading up three bikes on her carrier, even having to take the seats off the bikes. No worries for me with the Swagman.

Well, this is a combination of last Sunday and today. Was going to go up to Azusa OHV but it was closed due to fire nearby. So wife and I went up to Mt. Baldy instead. Temps were 15-20 degrees cooler up there at the top (paid $20 each for round trip via their ski lift). This is our first time went all the way to the top and it was a very nice place just to hang out and enjoy the view. Would've been better if they would let me drive the rig up there so I can get more awesome shots. Anyways, found a member selling his K&N 63-series intake for a very low price (63-9034 - K&N 63 Series Aircharger Kits, Performance Intake Kit direct from K&N). Picked it up today and installed. Not sure about the claimed 12-hp bump, but it sure does sounds nice.

Looks great Jack!!! The wheels look awesome here, better than previous photos.
I didn't realize that lifts stay open during the summer.

We should hit up one of the trabucou trails someday with the wife's. :cheers:

I've been dying to take the rig offroad since the tires/wheels/lift. Perhaps we can meet at the meet at the end of the month. Mt. Baldy I think actually gets more business during summer than winter since they don't get a lot of snow. I should be done modding the rig. Maybe a cat-back and that's it. But you never know.

Full detail, top to bottom, wash, clay bar, wax. Stuck at work on a Saturday for 12hrs on a beautiful day. Nothing like getting paid time and a half to shine her up. Would have done this at home today for free but, This one is on the company!!! HAHAHAHAHA

Went up to Otay mountain with some buddies, and decided I didn't like the way a hill was looking at me, so I backed into it.

Had an absolute blast out there though, especially with some of the off shoot trails that were there.

Joneseyyy, that doesn't look good! Looks like it cracked the light too? Deep that dent probably stretched the metal. It stretched mine when I got hit with a golf ball.

Let us know what they plan to do to repair it.

Only 2 options, massage it back and repaint or replace the entire hatch...I'll let y'all know, but it is going up to Vermont in its current form.

Shoot, when my truck got hit with the golf ball. I took it to the dent guy the Land Rover in buckhead uses, and he popped it out, but refused to charge me cause he couldn't make it "right". He said the metal was stretched, and you can still see the dimples from the golf ball. He said my only option was to redent it, bondo it, and sand and paint.

The paint is cracked down to bare metal in one place in mine and pretty badly scuffed in other spots (the scuffs don't bother me - blends with the trail pinstripes everywhere else!). I'm using my collision coverage on this since I fear to fix this appropriately is going to be pricey. My insurance rates already suck so I'm fine with the inevitable rate hike vs. whatever this would cost out of pocket now.

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!
