At any rate, both my paintball gun and my .22 are in the bedroom at the ready now. Depends on what kind of mood I'm in.

I am either taking it to Tampa OffRoad or Southern Tire. Both have worked on my rigs in the past and know what they are doing. If you call Tampa Offroad ask for Ian and if calling Southern Tire ask for Jamel

@appfreak - how does this thing attach to the sides on the top of the plastic near the windows? It looks like exactly what I need, but I am hoping the way it attaches is a temporary solution not something that would require Velcro strips needing be permanently installed. Thanks in advance.

X2 on what Mike said. I consider the velcro to be a temporary application. The residue can easily removed from the plastic if you need to. Hoping the same can be said for the door flaps I just ordered....

Try using some velcro backed 3M command strips. They do not damage paint or drywall, so I doubt they could do anything to plastic.

I already had the SS 4Runner Exhaust tip, so I bought the following off of ebay.
Yonaka Part# YMSS9025
Fully Polished!
304 Stainless Steel
2.5" OD 90 Degree Mandrel Bent Pipe - 6" Legs
1.5 MM Thick - 17 Gauge
Yonaka 2 5" Polished 304 Stainless Steel 90 Degree Mandrel Bend Pipe Tube 6" Leg | eBay

The guy I used (doing this for 20 years at his own shop), cut the OEM pipe just behind the hanger, cut the new SS pipe just before one of the bends, expanded the opening so he would be able to angle it down (so it would not be pointed down, but horizontal), but still fill the gap with the welds.
Before welding, he measured where the tip would be positioned, cut off excess amount of pipe for the side exit, flared the end slightly and welded to the OEM pipe and then my tip on the SS pipe.

It would have looked good with the SS pipe exiting without the tip as well, but since I already had it.....I told him to weld it

He did this effortlessly without issue!

OH, he charged me $40.00 out the door. :reddance:

Air Filter

Did the recharge procedure on my K&N today. Not sure it's worth the mess and time. An OEM paper filter is looking attractive.
Opinions welcome

That's insane!
It took him less than 30 minutes time to do the whole thing with my parts.
That time is on the rack to out the parking lot.
He didn't cut/reweld any hanger, just worked on piping behind the hanger!

IMHO, I've had K&N Oil treated filters on previous vehicles and they don't offer the filtration needed and also deposit oil to the MAF sensor.
I removed them and haven't gone back.
I use OEM filters, period.

That's just me....
