The bumper isn't destroyed, it doesn't need a whole new cover, just some paint and maybe a little filler. If I didn't need to cut the bumper up I'd just have the guys who come to our dealer to touch up curb rashed wheels and rock chips get it good enough. I was recently looking for a spacer lift of an inch all the way around. Coming from a sporty low good handling car background I really like the XREAS suspension. Maybe at some point we could meet up and I could get a ride in yours to see what it feels like. I'd do the bumper for not and see how it goes. I had no intention of lifting it but in the end I'm sure I will. I can't seem to leave anything alone. How do the trail sides line up with the rear flares?

I will almost guarantee you will hate what a steel plate bumper does to xreas. That's a lot of weight in a position with a lot of leverage on just the front springs and shocks (out front with little to no help from the rear suspension).
I finally installed my single-hoop Shrockworks this weekend. I have a Toytec Ultimate lift and the bumper dropped the front end by exactly one inch. I haven't done it yet but I need to crank the cool overs up to compensate for this.
I'll caveat this with the fact that I don't know and can't find the spring rate for this lift kit off hand. The springs I have are probably stiffer than xreas and it definitely wallows around a LOT more with the bumper. A winch is next and I'm going to have to swap springs at that point for sure. Most folks report something in the 700 lb range as acceptable. I'm no expert though and will be calling Metal Tech for their opinion.

Just shoot me a PM and you can take it for a spin to compare sometime, it's not Xreas but it's very solid, highway handling is great, even a little out of spec. I actually need to get my new UCAs on and an alignment to see how much of a difference that will make, probably get a set of duratracs when I get to that.
In the trail rocker thread someone states that the rear flare is closed at the bottom, after install that is not the case. It is mostly covered with the rubber weather strip though, I figure once I get my sliders on it'll be fine. I'm sure the trail flare would just snap on, but would need to be painted to match. I'm guessing you have good access for that if you wanted though.. Still haven't gotten my hail damage fixed yet so it's possible I may order and get them painted since they'll be painting a new hood and fender, just haven't had time to look at it and verify fitment.

MetalTech will say to get 700lb springs. It's what they told me and they are correct. With a steel front bumper, winch, dual batteries and compressor plus a couple extra lights, it is perfect.

I like Shrockworks.....they take longer than others, but I decided that for me quality of product and design were more important than the instant gratification of having it today.
