I started cleaning out all the junk that has accumulated in it over the summer. I'm anticipating I will start doing a more thorough cleaning this weekend to get it ready to list for sale. I'm happy to be staying in the Toyota family even though I will miss some of the features of the T4R compared to the Tacoma. 4WD and an actual bed are some good positives though.

I worked with a local collision repair place to track down a hood in Michigan. It's used but in good condition.

Started this little project this weekend. It'll probably be a few weeks before I can say it's done. The passenger side fit awesome. Drivers= kind fits like dog sh$% right now.

McNeil makes a great product. I didn't expect them to fit perfectly since they are fiberglass. And:honestly, the driver's side isn't too bad... I'm just anal about my Runner. But, their customer service could use some SERIOUS help to say the least. To make a long story short, I ordered these in February, bugged the hell out of them, received a set for a Tacoma/3rd gen in July, shipped those back, and had to bug them constantly again... finally got them in late September. Throughout all of this, I was told they had been shipped, had not been shipped, they'd send a tracking number "in 5 min", etc. multiple times...
All that being said, they did pay the shipping for set #2, and during trying to get the second set, I understand the owner was having some health problems. I spoke to McNeil today and they gave me some hints to try and get it lined up a bit better. I'm going to give it a try tonight/tomorrow (when I can find time) and see if their suggestions help. So: they have tried to make it right... which is what really matters in the end. It's just taken about 500 phone calls to make it finally happen (and from what I hear from others, this is the rule for how dealing with them goes rather than the exception).

Just got my MINI-VCI J2534 cable from Ebay for $20 yesterday. Loaded the Techstream program and installed the drivers last night on my Win Pro 7 64bit and had some fun today. Everything works perfectly, changed Auto Headlight settings, lock functions, and even did a Zero Point Calibration. FYI, if you have a dealer installed alarm (KARR with the blue blinking light under the driver side) DO NOT set your truck to unlock all doors with 1 push on the wireless remote. If you want to do this and you have this alarm you need to rewire the deactivation wire on the alarm unit to use another door besides the driver door. 1 push unlock will unlock all doors but not send a single signal to the driver door, which in turn will not shut off the alarm. Trust me on this, I sat in the garage (horn blaring) trying everything until I reran Techstream and set it back to 2 pushes to unlock everything. On a scale of 1-10, ease of install on my computer = 5-6 (I have the link to what I followed if anybody is interested), use on vehicle= 2. Final opinion, worth $20 especially the newer your vehicle is, the more you can play with and see if it works for you without having to pay the Stealer to change something that we should all be able to do for free because we bought this vehicle, thus we bought the right. (MY $.02) :hiding::rofl:

Sounds exactly like the issue i had with them on the Customer Service side.
Whats the fitment issues? Mine i had to sand in a few areas to knock down some build up and weird lines.

I've been researching and looking to do this. Would you by chance care to share what vendor you purchased the cable from and where you got ahold of techstream? Every time I get close to pulling the trigger it seems like something comes up along the "may not work right for you." But I'm also running Win Pro 7 64 bit and am guessing if you just got your cable that the seller still has some available :hungry:

I had to sand down the gelcoat in places along the edges on the passenger side just to make them straight (they had some wave to them), but otherwise: it fit awesome.
The driver's side: the mounting area that goes under the hood was bent upwards a bit (actually cracked a little torquing down bolts to get it to lay flat),
I have a pretty good gap at the headlight,
and the fender sits higher than the hood.
it sounds like if I can move it around a little and line up the light first and work backward to make the rest of the tabs fit better, it should fix some of the issues... may mean bending the tab on the inside near the door jamb (This guy: ),
But I've cut the frame on this puppy for the bumper and the body mounts already...Moving that a bit doesn't bother me.
I'll let everyone know when I finally get around to it (translate: I was tired and had too many beers :cheers: right after work to care today. The fact that it rained 10 inches [seriously... not a typo] yesterday and I don't have a garage didn't help the motivation either).P.S. For those of you wondering (I know somebody's gonna ask), these will not work with your stock bumper... once I get em to fit, I'll be stretching and using zip ties (or something equally ghetto and cheap) to make it look decent until I can figure out a bumper...

Yours are exactly the same as mine. I just had to deal with it. Got the lines tight and I had to bend the inside mount out a bit on mine to fit properly.
Other than that. Same shit as me I've just learned to deal with it. Barely noticeable to the outside world and i barely notice it now.
