Thats perfect looking man. What did you use to paint those wheels, thats exactly the color I was thinking of doing but I havnt seen pictures yet that convinced me until this.

It's the anthracite plastidip that has been aged 3 years haha. Starting to peel in a couple spots, but has held up better than I could of imagined...will probably make a change to black trd pro wheels when I get new tires within the year. I do love these wheels though, just thought I would change things up. Here they are with a fresh coat of the plastidip.

Yeah im doing that LOL, also going throw some of that glossifier on there.

Truck looks great man, give us an update how the ride and handling is with the icon stage 2 as well.

It's hard for me to isolate the tires from the suspension because I did it all at the same time, but I'd say the squishier sidewalls are noticeable on hard turns (on/off ramps most noticeably), but the springs and shocks are very close to stock in feel. Between the sidewalls and shocks, most of the bumps that used to jar the cabin are now smoothed out without sacrificing by adding body roll and looseness. Considering the change in height, I'm very pleased my 4Runner.

Thanks, my goal was an even lift. The front naturally raises while driving so people with "level" cars in a parking lot don't realize they have the bro stance while driving.

I have 1.5" difference front to back in both sides. It is a 100% street queen daily driver and Chicago winter slayer.

Hi everyone... I recently just purchased a 07' Nautical Blue SR5 (w/leather) and have been doing my research on ideas of what I want to do with my 4Runner. I want a slightly "beefier" stance, so I am thinking tires, springs, and shocks.

I have a really great connection and am able to get 5100 shocks at a better price than anywhere else listed (PM me if interested), but I am curious on what are the best springs to go with? I figure 1-2" is the most I want to go with

Hopefully 'mlrife2' doesnt mind, but as a quick reference I love the stance/look of his 4Runner. Im just not sure what all would be needed to achieve this look without purchasing coilover setup.

What setting do you have your front on? Also, where did your caster end up with the Camburg's ?

2005 T4R Lift, Wheel & Tire Project

Finally completed the lift, wheel & tire project on my 2005 T4R Sport Edition and thought I'd share some before and after pics and details.

My rig is not 4WD, don't really need it in Florida, so I didn't want the result to look too aggressive. Just wanted a mild, level lift and nicely proportioned wheels and tires to compliment the body lines and original 4th gen 'flat top' fender openings. The lift is an ICON Stage I which provided 3" front and 2" rear over the stock spring height. The wheels are AE Alloy 023 series in chrome shadow with machined rings (#0234). Size is 17" x 9" with -5mm offset and 4.75" backspace. Tires are Nitto TerraGrappler G2s in 265/70/R17 (31.6" diameter). The tire/wheel combo stick out about 2" more than the factory setup, which is turned out to be 'just right' for my personal tastes. No rubbing, no cutting, no mud flap removal!!! The end result wound up looking exactly as I hoped it would - hope the rest of you like the look!

One other mod I made was removing the stupid vinyl pinstripes. This took about twenty minutes using a 3M eraser wheel on an old Black & Decker AC powered variable speed drill. I can't say enough about how easy the process was or how much better my rig looks de-striped! The only other mods I'm currently considering is T-Fab nerf bars and possibly repainting the silver bumper covers and roof rack a slightly darker shade to match the chrome shadow color of the wheels - I was hoping they'd be a closer match, but the wheels are slightly darker.

Only 48000 miles on the ODO, so with these mods I should be good to go another 48K!!!

Got my new wheels and tires back today and mounted...waiting on 1 last center cap! Can't wait to get these *****es on my rig, stoked overall for what I've got into the whole setup. I'll post some pics of it on my rig when the cap comes!

Daystar 1.5 spacers in the rear

Pro comp 18x9 wheels with BFG all terrain ko2 (stock tire size 265/60/18)

Pretty much the look i wanted, and it rides awesome. [emoji41]

Not a tire guy really.... been going through this thread but I have not really seen the answer for confirmation.

I am looking at putting some 17x8 ET 0 pro comp wheels on my truck. I was planning on going with 765/70/R17 tires but I want to make sure they will be "wide" enough for the 8" wheels. Should I be going with a wider size to compensate for the extra wheel width? I want the tire to have some meatiness to it.

I have a Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift. Any advice would be helpful.

A lot of the tire manufacturers will say the recommended wheel width to use for that particular tire. It is usually a range, for example it will say 8-10 inch wheel. I like to stay on the lower side of the range because I don't want my wheel sticking past the tire like you see some of the rice burners doing. I try to have my tire wider than the rim to protect them from curb damage.

But to answer your question, that tire size you listed will work on an 8 inch wheel.

Thanks - that is helpful. I agree I don't want any poke. From a looks perspective (and rim protection) I want more rubber not less.
