Me and my girlfriend woke up Saturday and out of the blue decided to go cruise Rowher flats since it's our 10 minutes from our house. It's been awhile since me and her took off solo for the day without the pup or someone else tagging along so it was a nice change for once.
We ended up starting at Artesian springs on the Bouquet Canyon side and ended up in the Rowher flats staging area. Trail condtions were decent not super dusty thanks to the area getting hit with rain and hail a couple days prior and didn't see anyone on the trail the entire day until we got into Rowher around 5pm.
Main reason I really wanted to go to Rowher is because the couple rock sections back there and I really wanted to see how my sliders would hold up. End of the day only carnage was the rear mudflaps driver side was hanging on by only the bolt all the plastic clips ripped out, passenger side broke a couple clips. Sliders have a couple scrapes and broken rock stuck to them.
But what really had me was at the end of the day at staging area in the rock playground, we dropped off the backside of rock that was bigger then I thought. Driverside slider took the direct hit and both front and rear driverside wheels were about 6" off the ground. I seriously thought I was stuck thankfully Atrac got me off after rocking the steering wheel side to side a couple times and that's where my driverside mudflap DNF'd.
Thankfully the sliders did there job because my door would of been shredded like a beer can with that line.. And to think I made it thru without sliders before with a spotter.
