So I've finally received my replacement bug/rock deflector. I went with the AVS BugFlector II, and it is amazing. I had to buy a new one because my last one broke, but i wasn't a fan of my truck without the deflector. Now Im back to liking the front end again.
It is really low-profile. I can barely see it from the drivers seat. Its lower profile than the Toyota deflectors. I got it at AdvanceAuto online, used a promo code, and got this thing for about $35-$40, so great deal.
If that one breaks I have one I'll sell ya cheap, I took it off the day I bought the truck 2 years ago.
Haha, I know. Not too many people run them on here. But I like it for some reason. I think it really grew on me the 5 years I've had it on my truck.
But thank you. I will consider that if this thing breaks. They advertise that its "Virtually Indestructible." We will see...
Went to Bayville park to play a round of disc golf. There were 3 3rd gen 4runners and a 4th gen 4runner there. These two parked next to each other so I joined the pack. I dont blend well..
I also buffed/waxed my truck today. I figured she deserved it.
Meguiars Carnauba Wax and a Ryobi 10" Orbital Buffer do the damn job.
This thread needs to be organized. So I will be periodically updating the first post on here, to make it easier to navigate. I didn't think I would get into modifying my truck this bad. I blame everyone here

That's usually how it goes! LOL

Update: I will be posting my BEFORE and AFTER video once I have compiled all of my info together. I also have install photos.
One thing I will say, the install was a PITA, and I will blame my body lift. Some of the breather hoses were too short and the MAF mounting location required modifying because the MAF sensor wiring was too short. I made sure to do everything properly, so I wouldnt have to dive into THAT project again.
So, ever since my K&N filter oiled up my MAF sensor, I had gotten a Spectre dry filter. Well, here are the before and after pictures:
Had to drill holes for MAF:
Got the box in:
Got the Powercore Dry Filter installed:
Here is my attempt at a Video:
CONCLUSION: I have found that my truck runs a lot quieter at idle and when cruising down the road. The engine bay doesn't have so much *whizzing* sounds going on, and my engine is hopefully getting better air.
I got to WOT my cold air intake this morning on the interstate. So, the changes I've noticed are:
1) During coasting, without throttle, the idling is lower and not as loud, or throaty as usual. (My Spectre had a lot of engine bay hum.)
2) Acceleration is only a hair more reponsive, but the general feeling from the pedal is MUCH better. I don't have to lay into it to get results. I can already tell the truck is responding better. Now I just need to get a TRD Supercharger, 2.2" URD Pulley, water/meth, and 7th injector, etc.
Possibly going to get 4.56 gears in the near future.
Like I said earlier, I am going to focus on performance at this point. I had my focus on sound systems, then lifting, and now I'm onto performance. We will see where it leads me. Probably broke... :/
On a completely unrelated note: I know it's been a while, but thanks for offering to help me with my timing belt. I actually found another member who is local to help me out. I don't want you to think I forgot about you or anything, it will just be easier since I don't have to drive.
