Do a compression test. I would think that as long as your compression is all above 140 psi or so and within 15 psi of each other then your engine should be healthy enough to handle it.

Mine had 220k when I added the supercharger. Just make sure you've got good compression as mentioned above and you should be just fine.

Mine had 120k when I added the SC now has 180k. I am now have this weird miss that starts at 2500 rpm, but do not know if it is SC related.

The miss is most likely an electrical issue and I wouldn't think that the s/c would have any real affect on your electrical system. If anything, the s/c would mainly just put a little extra stress on the mechanics of the engine itself.

I think you are right. I have been going through every sensor related to the fuel delivery system. No luck so far.

help

i recently purchased a used trd SC and i decided to rebuild it. replaced rear cap bearings, and nosecone bearings a seal and fresh oil. i am working on it as we speak. so anyways, i need info or measurements on the spacer, im assuming has the 8mm internal diameter for the bolt to go through. i need the lenth if the spacer so i can make one. i also need any info on the dipstick relocation bracket so i can make one. installing this on 2000 4runner 4wd. i think i have everything else. another question, i need that trd check valve, is there anything thAT WILL SUBSTITUTE THAT? another manufacturer because i forgot to order it and this SC is going on today and i just need to go grab one! thanks yall. ill be back im sure for questions.

I have a full writeup from research to final tuning on my site. Feel free to add a link to it in the first post if you guys want. By far one of the best upgrades I made to the 4Runner.

@10ac

I used a PCV valve for an Isuzu Rodeo for my TRD check valve because none of the dealers in town had it in stock and I didn't want to wait. It's basically the same thing, if you use a PCV valve it just need to be a straight one with no bends, you can use literally any of them. Hope that helps, I believe it was from a 93-96 Rodeo if that helps too.

Hey guys! So my S/C needs a rebuild and I've decided to go ahead and tackle it myself. On rolling performance's site they have the option of ceramic bearings, has anyone used these or possibly have any insight as to how much better they would be over the standard bearings?

For those interested in having a Toyota tech install their supercharger, please contact me (NJ). He sold me a Gen 1 supercharger for me 02 Limited and part of the deal was installing the unit. Overall: a great experience. Highly recommended.

Just had a Gen 1 supercharger put on my 02 Limited. The installer sold me the supercharger he had in a box in his garage off his 98 Limited. He could not remember which throttle body port to attach one of the vacuum lines and just picked one. If anyone knows the preferable port to connect that vacuum line (if you know what I am talking about), please advise. Apparently, he had read one of the threads here which recommended a particular port. Any ideas?

I just got a supercharger! 2nd Gen, and I am also missing the dipstick relocation bracket, manifold spacer, and throttle bracket (its going on a 2000 5spd 4wd).
Any help on where I can get these or how to fab them up would be greatly appreciated.
Also there is an automotive bolt supplier here in Berkeley that seems to have everything under the sun when it comes to nuts and bolts. Bowlin Equipment Company | Berkeley, CA 94710
I am not sure if they ship stuff out but I would be happy to help ship them to people who need them.

Have any of you guys got your trucks dyno'd? I want to get my 4Runner and Taco both dyno'd.

The 4Runner just has the first gen supercharger with some sort of device that adds fuel according to how much you're boosting (stock pulley). Not sure exactly what it is, I bought the 4Runner supercharged and the guy I bought it from knew nothing as he only had it for 6 months.

The Taco has a second gen supercharger, 2.2" pulley, 7th injector, headers and an exhaust. I'm curious to see what they makes power-wise.
