Oh for sure, lightbars in the daytime aren't the best... Agreed- hard to miss.
Personally, I like bumper bars much more than windshield mounted ones.. they just don't seem to fit very well up there
(Sidenote, the one in the picture was not run, but only turned on for this photo)

Some more pictures to post!
Went to the Colorado FJ Cruisers 1st annual Meet and Greet this past Sunday. There was about 200 rigs that showed up.. crazy turnout!
Then, went and tried to hit Yankee Hill again with
@ Asaspades93
, since we never made it up last time.
The snow started coming down quite a bit, creating the opportunity for a few sweet pictures:
Until next time! Hoping to get out again soon with all of the recent snow we've gotten! (1'+ this week in Fort Collins, more in the mountains...)

Found these on Craigslist the other day, and then went and picked them up.. AllPro coilovers! These are basically ToyTec Ultimates, same exact shock, and probably super similar coil
They have blown shocks, but I paid next to nothing for them. New shocks are about $200 each... I've gotten some quotes for rebuild at around $120 each. I can't decide between new ones or rebuild, as the cost difference to get all new shocks isn't terrible.
I've been looking to get something like this for a while, as I just want a little bit more front lift to stop some rubbing, and these seem like a pretty good solution.
I even got a spanner wrench!

Nice find, I'd just go new personally. I like knowing the stuff on my truck is good to go.

Same, but the cost difference is just so much...
On a side note, I've looked into Fox, King, FOA, ADS, and other shocks. I'm considering just saving the extra money and splurging for something nicer so I only have to do it once. Decisions decisions.

Picked this shiny thing up yesterday. 20# CO2 tank with an adjustable regulator. Super excited to finally have something for my tires since I never bothered to get a compressor... Still working on mounting though, as it really put up a fight when I tried to strap upright in the cargo area.
Also made some bumpstop extensions the other day. The metal supply place was out of the size I wanted, and the next size up was 3.5". I gave it a shot... but they're way too long. I hit bump in dips and over speed bumps now, and travel is definitely limited. On the trail they're perfect, so I'm leaving them until I can simply get some taller coils.

Went to Moab for a few days over spring break with
@ Fishwerks
,
@ TCMach
, @,
@ Twenman4
, and a few other Land Cruisers!
The majority of the pictures I posted in this thread: Trip Report: Spring Break 2016 in Moab
The pictures posted here are the main ones with my 4Runner in them. Check out that other thread, there's many more photos there!
First, we ran Steel Bender.
I took off the extended bumpstops I made before making the trip, as around town they are too long and I bottom out over speedbumps- way too rough. On the trail, I had the one problem of flexing into my rear fenders, causing the fender flare to break the clip and pop off.
I installed my bumpstop extensions the next morning, which actually worked rather well. We ran Flat Iron Mesa, which was pretty fun! The bumps are a tiny bit too long, as you can see below, but they save my fenders and still flex really well.
The Intimidator (the obstacle above) was sketchy (huge cliff drop off to the side), but not too bad. All around a great trail.
The next day we decided to simply go for a drive up Onion Creek. It seems it is still too early in the season to actually make the loop, as we found a fair amount of snow, and even had Chris and Tracy get stuck earlier! (FYI, in this photo, Tyler isn't stuck)
Until next time!

Great pics as always. Wish I could make it out to Moab sometime. That's about the same thing I did for my extended rear bump stops. I don't remember what size tubing I used but it dropped mine just the right amount for the long travel LC shocks and LC 7.5 wraps. It'll still flex like crazy but it keeps it from over compressing the shock and doesn't bottom out or anything around town. I didn't use the stock bumpstops either, I used some Daystar Poly Competition ones so they're softer than the rock hard stock ones for sure.
Here's the bumpstop.
Here's the truck fully almost fully flexed, the poly bumpstops compress just a little bit when it's fully flexed. When I hang a tire the other side stuffs pretty good.
I actually made a few extra sets of these thinking some members would want them but I guess not haha. Live and learn. Hopefully you don't mind me posting all those pics, just thought they may help.

You're doing a great job documenting your build. It's nice seeing a slow progression instead of a picture of parts we all ever wanted at once. Your neck of the woods looks amazing. I have family in Crested Butte, I would like to get my truck out there but I might not have tires left by the time I get there from NJ.

Sweet pictures man!! I have that same issue with my bump stops, on the street they are always getting hit, but are set about right for the trail. The only solution to fix them hitting on the street is to get more lift which sucks
I'm hoping I can meet all you guys when I'm back home this summer; all you guys have such sweet rigs and take awesome photos!

Definitely make the trip if you can, it's great out there! That would also require a stop in Colorado..
As for the bumps, I think my biggest problem is the wheel spacers- I can't flex much more than in my photo, as the tire then hits the fender. I should probably remove them... Needed them with the stock wheels, but with these, they're pointless really

Thanks! It's been slow for sure, but it's all that my budget allows, haha.
It's super nice out here! Absolutely love it. So many great places/trails- if you can make it here some day, do it!

Exactly! I'll probably be getting new rear coils soon anyways (these just aren't enough lift when I'm loaded), hopefully they make the ride a little bit better.
Let me know when you're back, I'm sure we can get everyone together at some point!

Trust me, if I drive all the way out to Moab I'm gonna make some of you Colorado natives show me a good time wheeling in the mountains.

For the record, I backed out of this haha. Only Chris and Tracy got stuck.
Also, I was pretty sure we decided you didn't need bumpstops at all with your self clearancing tires and blown off flare haha
