I really like the look of the amber lights you used, and the LED in the dome light is a nice touch. I really like that in modern cars... Does your redline on the tach still show clearly? Also, do you like the white LEDS in the climate control? Seems harsh.
Unfortunately I am stuck with green due to my Eclipse AVN unit being green. I am nowhere near ballsy enough to open that thing up and attempt to change the colors in the LEDs. I should upgrade, but the units with the features (and reviews) that I desire are far outside of what I consider an acceptable price range.

The link for the clock color change took me to the forum rules and regulations! You trying to tell us something? Lol.
Awesome build so far!

I was heavily considering one of those as a backup, I hope your bolt holes line up though..

Thanks for the compliments! The tach redline is still red, which is not much of a contrast between the amber.. but not like I ever get it up that high anyway. The white Climate controls were done because anywhere that I wanted to retain the color of the controls (the red/blue dial for example), I used white lights. This was done at the climate controls, trans shifter, and FMU display.
My last truck had white everything, that was a bit much. But having white just on those items is quite bearable and breaks up the amber nicely.

Damn Jim you're leaving already? We will have to get together at least once more.
My dad is working on the NSX right now... The plant is unreal!
I'll probably need some help installing a lift (I know we've chatted before) just need to sell the silver truck first!

I've always wondered how those plate bumpers were reinforced at the back side and how they are mounted to the frame. Would you mind taking a picture of yours now that it is still in bare steel?
Cheers from Brazil.

The amber leds came out really nicely. Just curios what bulb you used for the accent light on the botom of the fmu. and where did you wire it for power?

I like the lighting upgrades. I'd like to go all-white on the dash lights, as it looks great in my wife's TSX.
Do you know if the lens on the side marker light can be separated from the housing? (Think fun lighting mods.)

I will when I actually get to mounting it.

I used the dash light circuit on the FMU (the green wire that I brought down to the dimmer knob on the dash)

Tablet Mount
|April 23, 2016|
I finally got one of those fancy tablets.. and mounted it in the truck!
=====================================
What/Why:
The reason I wanted a tablet mounted was so that I could use various maps while on trips and have them accessible.. all while not using my phone and its battery/Data.
I went with the Galaxy tablet because it has a Micro SD card slot and WiFi & GPS capability. Meaning I could download the map of the area I was going ahead of time and just use the GPS to navigate around.
Parts/Cost:
$80 (normally $120): Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" E Lite 8gb WiFi ( HERE)
$30: Arkon Slim-Grip drill base mount ( HERE)
$10: 32GB Micro SD Card (wow these have become inexpensive!)
$10: Backcountry Navigator Pro App [for Android]
Tools:
-Drill
-Short wood screws
Time:
10 mins..
Procedure:
Just find where you want to mount it, mark the locations for the screws, drill some pilot holes and mount it.
Regarding the APP. It is the only app I have paid for, ever. But it is completely worth it. It has maps of the country from tons of different sources: CalTopo, US Topo, OpenCycleMaps showing terrain worldwide, USGS, Canada Topo, Marine map, USGS Color Aerial photography, and Accuterra (for an extra cost). You can set waypoints and record tracks.

I would suggest trying Locus Map Pro. I used to use Backcountry Navigator Pro, but Locus blows it away IMO.

If I had not already paid for this one, I would definitely check that out. Does have some nice features though..
