It's a bit noisier at WOT since it's now open and some might find it annoying but being around and driving loud cars most of my life it's not bad to me.
I agree with Ron here, the sound is a little bit louder, but ONLY when you hammer the gas. I think it sounds beautiful, and it made me reconsider buying a performance exhaust, if only for the sound that they make. But for normal driving, there's really not much of a difference.
ok thats what im looking for a nice hum. also is that a 2nd air box? the smaller one next to the big one? someone asked me about it and i just told them it was for when the ect power was on, it would take more through there?
the ECT buttom just changes the rpms which the tranny will shift, not give you more horse power....sorry

I think you're looking at one of the 3 silencer boxes. Here's a picture of my engine without them. I removed them and bumped my horsies a little in doing so. It's simply a little box that helps quiet the air intake stream, as well as the exhaust tone in doing so. By removing them, I gave the air intake a less turbulent pathway, subsequently improving horsepower; the same way a cold air intake works.
