grille update
Just an update on my grille situation and some other misc stuff..
I started my grille conversion today. Bought an 02 grille from eBay and a billet grille kit. First I went and bought some new clips and ordered a new Toyota badge (which is not the same size as the 99) from the Toyota Dealer here's a pic at school today Then when I got home, I did the rest of the install. I had to cut out the inside bars of the grille and mount the billet Wont be getting the emblem til tomorrow, but so far it looks good to me. Also ordered some new sunvisors from eBay because mine are pieces of dog sh!t... made of that vinyl crap and no power mirror, I got the stupid vinyl flap instead... they have the powered mirror and they don't look bad. Should be here tomorrow or the day after. They departed yesterday at 7:13 AM from Saint Paul, MN, so I don't expect much longer... Also got some new OEM floormats from Toyota with 4Runner embroidered in them... I never had floormats as they were missing when I got the car. My brother also snagged me some boom in the form of two 12" subs, two MTX amps, and a cap today so I should be installing those soon. Not bad for two days work... yeah just updating. I'm gonna grab me some photos tomorrow when I get the emblem on.

All I know is that the ones I have aren't the best fit, especially in the rear. It's not a huge deal seeing as I hardly ever sit in the back but it would be nice if they were a perfect fit.

Clemson - I only paid 100 for the lot of them, they're from my brothers work. Whenever they remove systems, they ask if they want their old stuff, some say no, so the old stuff goes cheap. He works at a high end shop so the stuff isn't even outdated yet. Whether the cap is worthless or not doesn't even matter to me, it's practically free since that same one sells for 100 dollars.. always good. Hey, if it really is worthless, I can sell it and get my money back
![]() Not sure what brand the subs are, I think they're Pioneers, but they're just average. Oh well, for 100, I won't complain. Might be a while til the install, I'm not exactly huge on extra time atm. The mats - I like the idea of the whole weatherguard ones and may eventually get them, but for the time being I just wanted to at least have them, and I love the clean look of them. I also can't stand not having something that should have been there... like my upper console I had to find and the lock switch for the windows. They're so pretty... lol. Thank you for the feedback! Sloan - I am not sure if I'm allowed to post eBay links here... but heres the auction number: 110365053463 This was the first time I've ever attempted cutting or anything so I don't know what I got myself into... yet somehow I just kinda did it and it worked... ha I was surprised. Just be sure to have the right tools, right when I was about to mount it all, I had to borrow an allen wrench from my neighbor because all of my allen sets are metric and they send you standards.

Sorry for cluttering up your thread ChildrenOfBodom but lemme just clear up the confusion Clemson and I had about mats earlier.
These are what I have, and aren't an exact fit. In fact, the rear mats hardly fit at all. WeatherTech All-Weather Floor Mats These are what Rock Slide has, and judging from the pictures he posted on YotaTech, they're fit perfectly. Not to mention they look freakin' awesome and have great coverage to ensure you don't get mud on most of the plastic trim too, not just the carpet. WeatherTech DigitalFit Floor Liners His thread on YotaTech can be found here just scroll down about halfway to see pictures. Anyway, back to ChildrenOfBodom's new 2002 billet grille

Any specifics you want pics on? I like it, but to be honest, this 02 grille wasnt the best design for the billet mod. The top cross bar needs to be cut out and it comes out too far. When you cut it out, you have to cut into the top of the whole emblem oval thing... so there is a gap between the emblem and the billet area. I also havent really cleaned up the cut yet so it's a little sore looking, nothing some sand paper can't fix. I will try to elaborate with photos, but as of now, I have none. The quality of the billet was great though, it's easy to mount and everything. Cutting can die though... but i think that I hated that because I was using my last blade (which is broken) and made it significantly harder.

Just to add: Sorry if some of this seems kinda dumb, you guys have nice 4Runners and most of which had floormats, visors, etc. Well, to be less than blatant, mine didn't. Well it might as well shouldn't have. The visors were history, and I never had front floor mats before. Just clearing up any confusion in case there is some. I love my 4Runner and want to make it just like it should be. I just called one of those come to your house detailer people to wash and detail my Mercedes and the 4Runner on a count of it being my birthday today. The mercedes is getting detailed right now, clayed, waxed, vacuumed, the whole sha-bang. It was going to cost 60 bucks a car but when he saw my drivers license and it said "DOB: 03-26-91" He said it was free since it's my 18th birthday! how nice... My uncle who also had his Corolla washed had to pay though... lol. You can see my neighbors 4th gen sport in the background I will get some of the 4Runner washed too, but he hasn't started it yet. Thanks guys! And Silver--- if these pics arent good enough for you, let me know! I couldn't really get a clear picture of how it mounted on a count of my camera sucks lol. It's a series of L brackets. You drill a hole in the one end. On one side of the L is double sided tape which you stick to the actual part of the grille. In the billet, between the bars, there is holes to stick screws through then screw into the bracket. I think you can see the holes in a pic, not sure though.
