I'm not too familiar with California, but I would guess that it's slightly more expensive to live here than there, because of the added cost to ship goods over the Pacific.
Take gas prices for example. A few years ago we were paying over $4 per gallon while the other states were paying a dollar or less per gallon than we were.
Last week when I got gas for the runner, the price per gallon was around $3.60 for 91 octane.

Ok, so I tried looking for a OEM bug shield, but did not find one that was in good condition for a reasonable price. So, I decided to go with the AVS Bugflector II and could not be happier. Installing it took only a minute or two and it looks awesome! Here are some pics of it installed: (Not the best pics, I know)

Thanks dude!
You really should consider the AVS Bugflector II. When I ordered it, I was skeptical that it would look as good as it does. Having it on there makes me love driving my rig even more.

I've had this EGR one on my truck for 6 years now:
The best thing is, it sits high up off the hood so you can still fit your wash mit under it when washing your truck. No bumpers or anything else to stick to the paint.
More pics here/write-up:

I decided not to use the provided rubber bumpers. My front end was getting chipped up so hope this will help. It cost $55. Way cheaper than anything else I could find.

Thanks for this post. $55 at pep boys? I just added another item to my to do list for my new truck this weekend

Plenty of room behind it
It takes a lot of force to actually make contact with the paint so no need for the supplied bumpstops.

I probably do 90% of all my shopping online. I cant remember the last time I got something damaged. And if it was, it would be covered anyway.

Got and installed the AVS shield from Amazon, a few questions
Just got the shield and installed (damn that was fast Amazon!!). But I have a few questions
1. When I inserted the screws into the plastic screws, then installed on the hood, when I screw them in they eventually keep turning and turning. It seems installed right, only an idiot could screw that simple of an install up, but whould I eventually have felt the screws tighten?
2. Whats the best way to remove that ugly AVS logo?
3. Did you guys install the rubber nubs on your hood to keep the shield from rubbing the hood?
And thanks again for the Amazon link!! It would have taken Autozone and Pep Boys 4 more days to get it in and would have run me about $12 more too.

Pep boys had mine in stock. No waiting.

Thanks dude. So I shouldnt worry about the screws never feeling like they stopped or tightened in place?
My Pep Boys and Autozone would have had to order them for me and were going to take 5 days to a week. They were also $55 + tax which works out to $59. I ordered from Amazon on Sat and its on my rig now for $46 I think it was

Those screws don't tighten. Can't really help you on the AVS logo. I just left it the way it was when I got it. I personally didn't use the bumpstops either. IMO, they aren't really necessary and anyway the deflector has never rubbed on my paint while driving.
