Slipped thru my fingers
Currently drive a 98 2wd sr5 and have been looking and saving for a lightly used 99 limited with rear locker that isn't a snow belt veteran. Well after nearly a year of patient looking I found a super nice single owner carfax clean limited owned and driven only in sunny san diego. Needless to say I jumped on it and had a deal all worked out only to have it sold out from under me that very same day as I was faxing my information over. In the dealers defense, I had not yet placed a deposit on it and had only verbally commited to buy so nothing too shady went down. Simply he got a person who would pay the asking price, pure and simple. Had to vent my frustration, I guess my search continues, maybe ill get lucky and find a 2009 trail edition left over that the dealer just wants to blow out. Not holding my breath tho!

Meh, snow belt, green belt, sun belt, who cares? Just make sure it's been taken care of. I'd much rather take a 4Runner that's lived its entire life in OH with an owner who's meticulous about vehicle maintenance than one from AZ with chocolate and strawberry milk containers. AKA engine and transmission.
I am in the snow belt and I make sure to spray down the undercarriage after going through salty roads.
