It was about $150 new. It's striking, I wish I had known how bad quality my old aftermarket one really was.

Wicked COB! I saw that you were planning on doing this, and I never thought it would make such a big difference. Color matching that one peice of chrome really brought the front end, and the overall color scheme on your 'Runner, together quite nicely.
You have officially converted a base 4Runner into a Highlander. You've got it all from the springs/suspension, to the scoop, to the color matched bumpers/trim. Way to go man.

Truck looks great, my goal is to paint my bumpers aswell.
Did the paint seem to grab the chrome well?
I first need to replace the front one since it has a few rust spots starting to bubble.
But id like to paint both this summer.
BTW what flares are those, factory or aftermarket.
I want flares but dont want to pay 400$ for bushwackers.

Chrome one went in the garage. I repainted a once painted one. Description is in the last post. From past readings, doesn't work too well.
The flares are factory for an SR5 model. Most notable is the 1999 Highlander.

friend of mine bought his 3rd gen new in 01. Dealer installed brush guard and lights, never wired. Took off his lights and brush guard.
Took em apart and only kept the necessary part. spose'n i has lights now
but without a real mounting surface, it's kinda bleh now. temporary feeler i guess.

I think i like the look of them right in the middle like yours, especially with the contrast of the clear corners + signals it just flows very well. Just not exactly sure what there is to mount to. Looks awesome btw! Thanks for any help.

I honestly just halfassedly ziptied them there because I wanted to see if I liked it first.
If I learned anything from the experience, it's that you shouldn't mount lights that low. The next day, I was out on the trail, went through a stream and scraped a rock or something. Came out, one of the lights bent and broke. I didn't really care since they were free, so I just ripped em off and threw them out like I never had them. I wouldn't be so careless with some new Hella 700ff's.
Some people have mounted theirs to the upper valance and stuff, but I think if I ever want lights around there, it'll have to be in a Shrockworks bumper where they are recessed. That, or on top of an offroad bumper in the tubework where they're out of the way and provide a better spectrum of light.
Another thing, when they're so close together, they just focus one spot of light mainly. Doesn't help that much.

Ha! The two things I was gonna suggest when I first saw them were to maybe spread them apart a bit more and to somehow protect them a bit more. Lesson learned I guess.
I still thought visually they looked good.

Duly noted... Whelp back to the drawing boards then... I dont want to drill into the bumper and need to find a decent place to mount to. Okay well Thanks for the help keep up the great work man i really enjoy checking back to see what things you have fixed that make your 4runner oh so much better!

LOOK WHAT THE BROWN MAN DROPPED OFF AT MY DOOR!
Bilstein 5100's, bushing kit, and OME 883's!
Will go great with the OME 890's and Rear Nitrochargers. I am considering swapping to 891's if anyone wants to trade (maybe the stiff ride isn't to your liking, 891 owners?). Bumpers are heavy.
They say not to couple these because the ride is stiff. I like that
Nice touch, Dylan
