Looks mean. I like it.
What size tires were on there before? 265/70 or 265/75?

Thanks fellas...
Clemson,
The tires that were on it when I took it in today were the stock size... 265/70-16's... and they were pretty well worn.
Hepar,
No kidding man. When you got the 8069's a few months ago, I was like DANGIT!!! You beat me to it. But I kept going back and looking at your rig and they just look so clean with this color I said forget it.... So I'll be your twin on T4R.org, but around here there's not another 4Runner like it.

I knew that dirt and dust looked familiar! What parts about, North Valley ? Lived in the NE Heights recently thats why i could tell a bit. LOL. There are some beautiful 3rd Gen Runners there in 'Burque ?
Edit:

I lived in the NE Heights all my life until about 2 years ago when I moved in with my girlfriend (now fiancee). We actually live in the near S.Valley. There's some rough characters around from time to time, but my Pit Bull protects the yard and my Remington 870 protects the house. I've grown to like it better down here than I liked living in the heights.
Def. recognize old town in your pic... right in front of the plaza. And there are some nice 3rd gens around here, but not many are modified other than basic things like bug guards, window visors, etc.

WOW...yes i am very familiar with South Valley. Lived on La Vega...in the heart of it all. lol. Crazy city man but i do miss it very much and i visit enough every year (twice).
Do you cruise Central with your 4Runner?
Oh, and yes mostly all stock but pretty clean 4Runners. When i was there almost a year ago, i could hardly find a 3rd Gen for sale anywhere. Maybe i wasn't looking hard enough...hmm...i don't know.

Sounds good to me. I think it looks great on the silver too. And don't worry. If we ever cross paths face to face and you don't feel like having a twin around, all you have to do is hit the gas pedal. Vroom, vroom.
Although I have been tossing around the idea of a supercharger...

4daRunner,
No man, I don't cruise central with the 'Runner, or any car for that matter. Back when I was in high school I'd take my Supra up and down Montgomery and do stoplight to stoplight runs against whoever I could find, but that's about the extent of the cruising I've ever done.
And nice, one owner 3rd gens with records are hard to come by around here. Like you said, there's never that many for sale in the first place, and then you have to sift through those few forever to find a really good one. Also, ABQ seems to be like the Denver market, where 4Runners pull a premium that's usually above KBB/NADA. We looked for 6 months for my wife's 4-Runner, and I was searching for 9 months before I found my 2001.
Hepar,
You should do it man. I drive my SC'd 'Runner then I'll go drive my '97 with the stock 3.4L and it's night and day. It completely changes the driving experience because you can do things you just wouldn't be able to with the stock power.

Figured it's been awhile, so I'd do an update... Got a few small things done on the 4-Runner over the past few weeks:
- Installed clear corner/bumper lenses... Got these from seller "neondials" on E-Bay. They didn't go on quite as easily as the set I got for my '97. The drivers side corner lamp didn't fit quite the same as the factory lens, leaving a bigger gap between itself and the headlight. The mounting hole for the screw on the passenger corner lens wouldn't align either, so I had to drill it out a bit with a Dremel to get it on there. Also, the seller doesn't mention that unless you want CLEAR (WHITE) blinkers, you'll need to purchase two #7440 bulbs in Amber. This will give the clear look, but an orange blink. If you re-use the clear factory bulbs with the new clear lenses, you get a white blinker.
- Installed black center caps on the Procomp 8069's. The wheels come with chrome center caps, which I didn't like, so I bought some black ones from Wheeler's Off Road... they ran about $31 shipped.
- Did the mudflap mod... cutting off the black portion of the rear mudflaps. I used a box cutter with a fresh blade and it went through them like butter. More info on this mod here >>>> http://www.yotatech.com/f126/mud-fla...runner-103815/
- Extended the rear differential breather. I didn't run it all the way up and out by the gas cap because the 2001's gas cap is larger in diameter than the 1997's, so I ran it up inside the plastic cover and secured it to the gas filler neck with zip ties... it's covered, it's high enough for my needs, and it won't get in the way of the gas cap closing.
- Finally, I had to get my sticker on! My '97 has some fish stickers (I'm big time into fishing) and a Sublime sticker (the band), so I had to get the same ones on my 2001.

Also, I finally got around to modifying the skid plate so I could get it back on the truck. I know for sure you have to do this with the SS 1.2 and 7.2 lifts and I would assume you'd have to make similar modifications to the skid plate anytime you use a differential drop on the front.
All bolted back on... I had to modify the brackets for the Jaos skid to get it back on as well. It's hard to describe, but basically I had to grind 1/4" off each of the Jaos rear mounting plates to get them to fit into their spots on the factory skid plate.
And last but not least, I changed the oil in the supercharger's nose cone. A WORD OF CAUTION TO ANYONE WHO BUYS A 4-RUNNER WITH A SUPERCHARGER ALREADY INSTALLED: CHECK THE OIL IN THE NOSE CONE ASAP!!!!!
I had an inkling that mine needed attention because when I asked the prior owner about it he said he'd never changed it, never topped it off... basically never paid any attention to it. I did some searching and found a few useful threads:
http://www.yotatech.com/f2/superchar...rience-155032/
http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/G...Change-06.html
and a good source for nose cone rebuild parts >>>> http://www.rollingperformance.com/
I went to Walgreens and bought one of these:
Then to O'rielly's Auto Parts and found some of this:
Got it setup like this:
Went in through this hole (the one with the little orange dot on it... that's a 3/16" hex key to open that plug by the way)
And sucked out this much oil... That's a 4 oz. rubbermaid container which is 118 ml, which is the same amount of oil that comes in a bottle of GM supercharger oil. As you can see, my supercharger only had about 60 ml of oil in it (also assume there was prob. up to 20 ml that I couldn't suck out with the syringe). Not good. So #1, it was low, and #2, that oil has to be going somewhere. I put a flashlight under the container to examine the fluid for any metal shavings or suspended particles and there were none, which leads me to beleive the gears, coupler, and bearing are still in good shape. I'll have to keep an eye on it in the future and see if the nose cone is leaking. Also note that fresh supercharger oil is clear, and the fluid I pulled out was dark and I would assume burnt. This oil change was long overdue.
I used the outer (clear) part of the syringe and the same peice of clear tubing as a small funnel to pour back into the supercharger a full bottle of this ($11/bottle at the local GM dealership):
The S/C took the whole bottle of fresh GM oil before it started to leak out of the fill hole (from the research I've done you're supposed to fill it the same way you would a differential, until it begins to leak out of the fill hole). I closed it up, wiped it off, and now I feel alot better about my supercharger being a happy supercharger.
