This isn't CB but it is close enough. My antenna is a NMO mount, most people won't drill the 3/4" for it though.

not the best shot but here is my cobra 19xiv cb in the ashtray spot which is pretty popular... my antenna bracket is mounted on my tail light guard tho i plan to drill a hole in my ARB bumper to fit the antenna instead.

are both of y'all using the car's speakers or is there a separate speaker involved?

My radio is installed in the back, faceplate is what is shown. The speaker is in it and plenty loud for me to be able to hear it.

I took a path of least impact. I have no extra holes for mine. I mounted the antenna on the rear bumper and ran coax into the truck through the taillight. I ran power from the battery thruogh the same route as the regualr antenna. I mounted the radio bracket to the rear console with double sided tape. No extra holes.

I have the Cobra 18 right under the stereo. It is a DIN size and the speaker is on the front of it so you can hear it just fine. Will try to find some pictures i have of the install.

that's the CB I have! I'd like to have my antenna mounted either on the rear bumper or either one of the rear fenders.

I've never hit it with my leg (and I'm 6') and don't notice it's even there. Mine has a bottom mounted speaker so I couldn't really put it in the dash or on the side of the hump where Elton mounted his and still be able to hear it well. This was really my only choice, but it worked out just fine.

No doubt the ashtray looks cleaner, I just coudln't hear it well and didn't feel like buying a different CB. I paid $29 for this one and I was determined to use it, haha. Plus I'm not going for looks as you can tell by the dirt on my dash. My truck is simply to beat on, break, fix, and beat on some more, lol.

Here is my Uniden Pro 520 XL. It fits in the lower DIN slot that you have available, But I plan to move it to the ashtray spot when I get my 2m Ham radio.
