Rockdawg,
Congrats on the purchase man. That's a score right there! Since you're at the DMV, it got me to thinking... are they going to charge you taxes on the amount you paid, or on the book value? (Not sure how it works in AZ, but in NM, they used to go off the amount on the title/bill of sale, but then people started writing in lower values than they paid... DMV caught on and started basing taxes on book value..... )
Also, I'm curious, how's it running now? Are you getting any ping? You guys are at around 2500 feet elevation right?
Those betty boop stickers remind me of my boss... sometimes he drives the wifes SUV in to work and we give him crap about 'em.

Nice find on the supercharger! How well does it run?
After your 99, I'm sure we can all expect an amazing 4runner!

In AZ you don't pay sales tax unless you buy from a dealer. We pay an annual property tax on the vehicle as part of the liscensing and registration that is based off of the NADA book value (just learned that today) so my total today to get it titled and registered was 12.50 for emissions and 61 at DMV. So not bad at 73.50. As far as how it runs. Well it is pretty amazing it runs strong. I am getting a little ping if I romp on it when I'm under 2500rpms. And I am getting a growl from the nose cone bearing in the supercharger. A URD 7th injector setup will fix the fuel issue and make sure the pinging stays away. And I found the part numbers for the bearing and seal for the supercharger so that shouldnt be to bad either. I can't wait to get this bad boy in the air with some real meats on it. It does need brakes as the rotors heat up quick and pulse pretty hard. Tundra upgrade here we come. I think it will look totally mean.

Property tax on the vehicle huh? That's an interesting system for paying the taxes.
I've got a ton on links and information saved on the supercharger, fuel kits, transmission upgrades etc... let me know if you're having a hard time finding anything, I might be able to save you some research time.

I think you should drive that up to northern Colorado and let me hack into it.
As far as the smoke smell goes, gut the interior and literally wash it all out with a hose and some Tide laundry detergent. The liquid stuff works best. Pull the seats carpet, interior panels, etc. Everything buy the headliner and wash it all out. Then take some Febreze and hit the headliner with it.
I have cured a lot of smoker's smell in rigs with zero evidence that it was ever there.

That sounds like it would be really painful. I would love to get rid of that God forsaken smell, though.

scotty, thanks that is a great idea. And I would love to drive up and drop off this beauty. But I just don't have the coin and I do enjoy working on my own rig. I would be interested in some Link brackets if you were ever wanting to sell some of that I think I would be down your work is stellar and I absolutely love your rig. you set a high bar my friend. By the way are you gonna try and make AZRocks? love to hit some trails with you
I have to get the 99 ready for the insurance company, I'm taking all of the suspension and wheels and tires off before it gets turned in. Then depending on what they and what they pay I will have some funds for Armor and other goodies. I believe that this runner will surpass the short life of my 99

Awesome deal on "Smokey"! I think the first mod I would've done was buying 15 gallons of Febreeze.
