Top Gear Show's Toyota Just Won't Die

I've seen a couple episodes of the UK auto show Top Gear. There they decided to test the durability of a Toyota truck.

They bought an old farm pick-up with 190,000 miles. Then they drove it around Bristol smashing it into the odd wall and tree. Then they left it on the end of a ramp in the Atlantic. Eight hours later they recovered it overturned in the mud.

Here are their rules of repairs: NO spare parts. A mechanic can only add fuel and use small hand tools to see if it will start and drive away.

The Toyota started and they drove it to the next series of tests.

They then dropped the truck from a crane; drove it right thru a wooden garage; dropped a travel trailer on it and then smashed it with a wrecking ball.

The Toyota started and the drove it away.

Next they set the truck on fire and burned it inside and out.

The Toyota started and drove away.

Next they strapped it on the top of a 23-story apartment building, which was imploded. A track hoe rolled it over from the rubble pile.

The Toyota started and drove away.

This weeks episode ended with them saying that they would make a shrine of the Toyota.

Thats why I own a Toyota. It was incredible when they started that taco up after they exploded that building. Now remember, it was the diesel engine. I wish they would sell them over here.

Top Gear is a great show. I just added it to my Tivo list.
