V8 4th Gen TRD Headers Installed

I recently came across a great deal on some brand new TRD headers from the early 2000's. Originally I just bought them to resell but I figured I'd go ahead and see what an exhaust shop thought. I stopped by a highly recommended shop here in Bryan/ College Station TX, C&L Auto Care. C & L Autocare : Automotive Service and Maintenance in Bryan, TX Zach, the owner, looked it over and said that he'd be down to go ahead and attempt them. So I dropped the truck off and let him have a go. Two days later they're done and on there. He had to do a re-route of the dipstick and we're having some trouble with the clearance on the steering shaft, should be worked out in a few days. Overall I'm super pleased with the result. These headers eliminated two cat's and he had to build a custom Y-pipe/ crossover pipe to make the flanges line up. Let me say if you have ever wondered what your truck would sound like without a cracked exhaust manifold and dreamed of headers, follow that dream. It's every bit as bad ass as I had hoped. It threw a flow code CEL so I'll have to get a URD O2 sim. As for performance, i really don't know, it sounds great and it feels faster and thats really good enough for me. I'll upload some vids when I get around to it. Here's some pics.

Can you post what model of TRD headers those are? Also, that looks dangerously close to the steering column boot... Can you get pictures of different angles to show how much space there is? It seems like that boot is going to melt.

Agreed! Need more info and rough pricing. This is the only thing I'm missing for a complete exhaust swap.

They are TRD Tundra headers that are designed to fit a 2000-2002 Tundra. The part number for the headers are PTR16-34000-10 or 00602-17141-010.

http://www.toyotaparts4u.com/scripts...product=276478
Talked to my local Toyota dealer, they are discontinued and can't be ordered anymore. Only way to get them is if a dealer has new old stock or score a new/used pair like Nathan did from somewhere.

Nathan can add more info but I believe they had to rework the routing of the dipstick, make a custom crossover pipe, and grind down the steering shaft collar so it won't rub on the header. Also a URD O2 Simulator will be needed because a CEL will be thrown.

Chris pretty much got it all. As far as cost I only spent $100 on the headers and the rest of the cost went to install. 100 miles later still no issues. Thanks for all the compliments guys.
