Havin fun's build

So, I figured I would ad my toy on here. Just something I'm putting together for some of the mild off road adventures I go on those camping tr
Havin fun's build-015-jpg
This my 08 v-6 sr5 model, I know no v-8, but, still my fun and does what I use it for.

At this time it is still stock with a 3" spacer lift with coilover rear shocks.
Have a connex 4600 turbo cb w/ wilson 5000 rooftop mount antena.

Have painted and clear coated front grill and rear emblim.

Got board one day and decided to get my off road rims ready for spring to put on some M/T's on them as the others have seen there days.

I have boxes of other items in the garage waiting to install waiting for my SW bumper and winch to arrive. Changing the coils and struts out, but, don't wish to have to stiff of a ride until then. Will probably do a picture build when that happens. Skid plates just came in to put with the other items on hold for install.

I have a 7000lbs. flat bed trailer w/electric brakes I pull with all the camping equiptment to go on it for me and the kids for a week or two bearried in the woods. Try to hide from everyone and the normal rat race of the city.

More to come.

How is your rear coil over seup working for ya? What brand rear coil overs do you have and what spring rate do they have? What are the pro's and con's of this setup. I've Never hear of doing this before. I can only think it could cause articulation limitations. I does seem like it would be easier to install.. lol

I have stock coils in the rear with revtek spacer 2.5" in the rear. A blacksmith spring shop that modifies 4wd's has assorted shocks.

Used a monroematic shock for Ford 1/2 ton trucks, with 1200 lb capacity. He had to put my lower bushing from revtek shock into the eye let. The coilover shocks hole is smaller and had to press it in with a special epoxy. Still mounts on factory mount on the rear end. It pushed my hieght up a 1/2 an inch extra, now a 3" lift in the rear, not what i wanted to gain, but, when i put heavy loads on the rig, it drops down that 1/2 " only.

Feels like having a stiffer coil spring, but, smooth. Haven't tried off road yet. The principle is still the same as factory, but, with lift and not so bounce of a ride. More control with wieght so far. They are life time shocks.

Hey just thought I would say I'm excited/jealous for your new bumper, but also wondering when did you put in the order? Were you with the T4R group buy or did you order it before?

I ordered about Oct. approx when I joined this site officially. I preffered the cleaner, smother lines and didn't mind the wait. As others stated, took a little longer than stated time as was told, but, in before the season started. Bought as a b-day present for myself. No group buy.

As when we get done with this, have all this laying on the ground wondering what is missing and what we forgot.

Havin fun's build-004-jpg

Needless to say, all extras and we had, still had to go to the hardware store with the frontend disassembled to get mounting hardware to mount the bumper.

Yeah I have no time constraints either, and with the price it included an extra front skid. I notice you have aftermarket skids, so did you not use the extra Shrockworks piece. Lastly how did you get your bumper with the clean look and not to say Shrockworks on the front? Sorry for all the questions, I guess its just me getting answers and the closest I can get to enjoying my new bumper by living vicariously through yours. Estimated install time and difficulty?

Time frame wasn't an issue for me as I preferred the no protrutions past the bumper, clean lines and conformity shape to the vehicle. The extra plate they provide is to protect, cover the bottom of the radiator/ a/c, as it is now visible to hazards from rock and dabree that the plastic bumper used to cover- you couldn't see.
Mine in the picture was sent bare( not by request) and is aluminum- not sure why as they are steel usually. I'm not sure of not having there name anymore other than probably cost for extra cost to cut.
I also took my time and made sure to understand and make things with the install go together in one shot. Also some changing of things to incorporate with what I had already. Time was approx.-6hrs. As being a back yard mech.- and done many aspects of mechanics- to me a difficulty of 4.

No problem with all the questions, as many have helped me if I had questions also. Just happy to be able to return the favor to people. You can IB if you wish/need to. I'll be sending you an IB.
