AleksV's mallcrawler "build" thread

2004 4runner SportEdition
Fully loaded

Mods:
Engine stock
Suspension:
2.5/1.5 Daystar spacers, Spidertraxx( thanks Gaterose )
265/70/17 Duratracs on 17x8 Eaglealloy rims
Cosmetic:
35% tint all around, 55% windshield
06+ Headlights with 5000k HID's from xenondepot
Custom satoshi grille, badgeless
21" Henma LED light bar, combo behind grille

Maintenence so far:
Timing belt done at 70 Miles
CV axle shafts replaced

Next on the list.
Painting the rusted and discolored trunk
Full detail after that
Calipers, rotors and pads

I'll start off with what first got me into 4Runners. I had a stock 97 4Runner few years back. it was sweet, took it a bit offroading, broke my sidesteps, so removed them, and put on new 31" Toyo AT tires, clear corners, deckplate mod

My GTI in the back too. Sold the 4Runner, and regretted it ever since. went trough a few cars in between, and then had my mind set on another Runner.
Ended up getting a 2004 Sport, V8.

Day I got it,

I'm a big fan of tint, and really hate that it's illegal. No tint allowed on front windows.

Put yellow laminx on fogs

Some forum love, thanks Momo

Got some 06+ LED tails. what a big improvement in looks, from so little

And picked up Gaterose's spacers

Random

Going to the track, a hoby that's making this build thread very slow

Picked up some new shoes, all shiny

Buddies at work

New headlights. Kept going between these, and retrofitting my 04 headlights, I'm glad I went with these, more modern look. 5000k HID's as well, and soem pricey long light bulbs

Satoshi was a must, so I read over Gaterose's and Mytoy's threads over and over, picked up a white 06 grille locally, and got started

When it's nice out again, I'll paint everything a matte black, so its not showing as much

Funny tow picture, got some interesting looks from people haha

20" Hanma Combo bar, ghettofabricated behind the grille

then this happens...

looks like dealer didn't tighten the spacer, so that ****ed me hard. wheel fell off, hit the oncoming car, found it far away haha.
wheel is scratched deep, all around on the inside, the spacer is damaged, fender needs paint at least, maybe more damage, and whatever else. **** me, I didn't need this

That really sucks Aleks.. Can the dealer be held responsible or anything?

At least, or so it appears, it wasn't my spacers fault...

It's definitely dealers responsibility. They didn't tighten the spacer on.
Not the spacers fault, but I'm out one spacer though.

WOW, Aleks that really sucks, I would be furious with the dealer. Did you ever get to hooking up those wires I send you? Otherwise good looking build.

Not yet, has not been nice enough outside to get on that, but soon. And thanks.

Wow, I'd be looking for compensation for that shit. That is a huge mistake on their part and could have been much worse.

Which dealership did that?

They should be paying for that spacer and all damages at the very least

they;ve been good so far. They called yesterday to tell me to grab a rental. today they call to ask where I got the spacers, and told me when the wheel hit victim gets a quote for her car, to send her to them. Ièll be asking for some maintainence, or something to keep me happy for my troubles too. this could have been soooooo bad, if it was on a faster road, or wheel bounced a lil and went trough the persons windshield... we shall wait and see.

Red, It was Sherwood Park Toyota

Yeah that wheel could have easily seriously injured a pedestrian even.

As long as they cover all of the expenses to get your truck back to how it was, a good guy dealership would throw in some free oil changes or something.

Good luck.
