I easily added a 3 inch lift to RAS equipped 4runner

1. Remove XREAS, keep the stock springs and add stock shocks.
2. Add 3 inch spring lift to replaced front stock springs/shocks as for a non-XREAS model
3. Add shocks to rear in place of removed X-REAS
4. Simply move the RAS sensor arms to their highest positions, takes 5 minutes to do this. The rear end now sits 3 inches higher using the RAS, and is level with the front lift. The RAS now works, it will read N positon. You can still raise or lower the rear with RAS if you wish using the switch inside. No need to pull a fuse or disconnect anything.

Running 285/70/17 Goodyear MTR with Kevlar on FJ rims. No spacers needed, no rubbing after removing fender liners and mud flaps.

In the second picture where the blue dot sits, in the middle. See how the control arm can be adjusted up or down. It's a 12 mm nut, loosen, move the arm to it's top position, tighten the nut. The RAS will inflate until it reads N on the indicator on the dashboard. Rides as good as stock. Will keep the 4Runner level if lots of gear/towing/fat asses in the back. Functions like stock.

Noone told me this until I found 1 reference in the Lexus forums, awesomely easy.

And this thing now feels tighter after removing the X-REAS, it does have 250,000 miles on it. Have replaced the timing belt twice, changed the diff fluid twice, tranny fluid twice. added the rear breather mod. added the fog light mod. HID's added.

Very cool. I wish I had the RAS so I could do this.

For anyone with RAS, the shop can do the suspension work, taking off the X-REAS and placing stock shocks, the springs are reused. It really only took 5 minutes to adjust the RAS sensor arm up, it moves only about an inch to the top to get the full 3 inch lift from the airbags.
