DirtyD's 4runner build

Took delivery of my 2007 4runner Limited on 2/17/16 and pretty much instantly went to work on it. Prob be a sorta mild build but idk, might do more on it.

This is my last vehicle build and it was a major major project so excited to have a little easier job on the 4runner.

Well first things first, got in my FJ coils and Bilstein 5100's in and spent last saturday throwing those in.

End result was ~2" in the front and ~1" in the rear on the second setting in the front.

I like the ford... that is a really cool truck. Great job on that build.

I had a friend that had a 60 or 61 chevy 4x4 with a regular bed... strangest looking truck, like a 59 impala slammed on top of truck bed.

we gave it a nickname. "Heavy Chevy" Honestly it never really ran that great and you typically smelled like gasoline when you got out of it.

anyway...

cool Ford and good luck with the 4runner.

Decided to man up yesterday and cut my stock grill up and here are my findings.
1. Cutting the grill with a jig saw went through like butter, just used painters tap on the front side so the jig saw base would coast across that if i needed to cut from the front (which I did in a few places.)
2. The stock stand offs (both they keyed ones and the ones that just hold the self drilling screws) that support the metal frame were very brittle on my grill, just simply unscrewing them caused a couple to break. I repaired with Marine-Tex and then added two new bolts vertically through the grill mesh down through the metal frame for extra support. Seems very solid now.
3. This thread is very helpful for this mod click here

Very pleased with the final result imo.

Decided to try out some plasti-dip today. Thinking about maybe painting the calipers red too, not sure yet had the wheels off so many times lately with these mods they neighbors probably think something is wrong with me.

EDIT: decided to revert from the red lug nuts. Theyre just basic OEM silver again!

The bachelor lifestyle haha Honestly it hasnt been that expensive, most of the mods are simply time, especially the grill. Maybe the time part is worth a bit more than the money tho haha my gf reminded me lately of that detail.
