Very nice!! Looks good. It should look good and those brakes should stop on a dime. Next plans?

Gotta get the transfer case split, fixed, and back on. That'll be the goal this week. Then I can go get an alignment and see how this lift looks. I'd like to get the stock roof rack off and my cargo basket on.

Can you take some pics of the lift once you get it aligned for me?

I know this is a "budget build" but this guy makes a bad ass set of great quality replacement pieces. I got my set in 2 days for $50

Here's a link to Fumoto website/product/accessories page, look for the lever clips (locks), there's different lever clips depending on the valve used.

Looking forward to some pictures of the completed rig! I got my truck, same year, engine, miles, and cladding, about 6 months ago and have gone through most of the same upgrades. I didn't get mine for $6k though!

Wow we really did buy the same one, just about, at the same time. Loving your wheels and lift! Someone was selling similar DC wheels locally and I was disappointed they were the wrong size. Now that would have been too coincidental!

Now that is some inspiration. I'm on a very limited budget myself and have no idea where to start, but there's so many things on this forum that I'd like to try. This gives me some hope!

Yeah I'm really happy that mine came with the lift (albeit a cheap one), wheels, tires, tint, speakers, and exhaust, but I think starting off with a stock one is better, because you know if wasn't abused off-road as badly by the previous owner. Mine has a pretty unclear past and I paid $9k, which was extremely cheap given the market for these things in this area! Sounds like you got an awesome deal on a great starting platform.

I did get a good deal, although there was some personal items trading in there too to get the price down. Given the amount of sand I've pried out of the rails, I'd say mine did go off-road intentionally or unintentionally. Lol. And I learned the seller was a lying POS when I started tearing things out, but she has great bones. The transfer case/actuator fix would have been a costly repair at the dealership. I'm hoping to wrap that up by early next week. I think he started at $8K and then I got him down to $7200 and then there was some bartering. All in all, I'm pleased. I don't mind putting in a little elbow grease.

My starting point was figuring out what needed to be replaced so I could drive cross country without a worry (shocks, actuator seals, brakes, maintenance, etc). Then it became a matter of what I could afford to upgrade in the same areas I was working on since it was going to be pulled apart. Some were opportunistic purchases, like the Moog front springs and the brake setup. Others I searched for until I found a good deal (Bilsteins). I went ahead with the UCA change because I didn't want to take the chance of crappy highway driving while I'm towing given the lift. It can be done on a tight budget! The hardest part is patience and discipline to not jump the gun.
