Another new 4R owner!

Got my new Titanium 4x4 V8 SR5 (w/ Rack, Mats, Sunroof) at Longo yesterday. Here is the breakdown.

$ 32539.00 (MSRP)

$ 28962.00 (Offered Price = Invoice[including $300 TDA and $6 Gas] - $300)
$ 45.00 (Doc Prep Fee)
$ 2393.08 (CA State Tax = 8.25% x (28962+45))
$ 243.00 (CA License Fees)
$ 5.00 (CA Tire Fee)
$ -750.00 (Rebate)
----------------------------------------
$ 30898.08 Out the door

I guess this deal could be (mis)stated as $1050 under invoice.

I'll let you know how I like her after I get a chance to get her dirty!

Looking at your fees, is 8.25% your State Tax? OUCH...A couple years ago GA raised their tax from 3 to 4%, but made food tax free. I have a extra 1% in our County, which makes 5%. Of course I don't get the privledge of living in Sunny CA.

Looks like a pretty good deal to me.

use to live in ga a while ago. ga makes up for the tax on vehicles by making the vehicle personal property. so when you go to get that stinking little sticker, that brand new vehicle tags could be quite high, ga calls it ad valorem tax. heck i remember when i got my 91 cressida, it cost me 400 to get that sticker. it goes down each year due to the value of the vehicle going down each year.

not quite sure if its still that way or not. havent been in ga since 87.

Good Point. Yes, we still have it and my 2001 4Runner is still over $400 per year. I guess they get it one way or the other.

Thanks, I'll get some pics up soon (though it's still stock so it's nothing you'all haven't seen before).

In any case, no haggling was needed. I started and ended with that price. They said it was impossible. I said I needed to hurry home to watch the superbowl (actually did have guest coming over.). I told them they were wasting time and that they still needed to wash the truck before I could take it. Deal done (5 minute total negotiation)!

Nice deal, always pays to go to Longo. I bought my rig with them, and would buy another. As far as the service dept. I wouldn't trust them:

Screwed up my supercharger install

Messed up on an install for some spark plugs

and messed up on a simple oil change, the tech didn't screw the oil plug on properly half of my oil came out.

That said you got a good deal, just don't take your rig back for service.

and if anyone is wondering how i can have a 91 toyota and not been back to ga since 87, my dad bought that last ga toyota from a dealership in ga and had my dad register it in ga and then drove it up to me and just paid him back for everything. my dad like the art of haggling and he has more fun doing it than i do.

That said you got a good deal, just don't take back for service use another dealer.
There is no chance I'd drive the 40 miles for service anyhow. Thanks for the information though.

Congrats on the new 4Runner and that's a sweet deal you got on it too! Just a quick question, what's the $6 gas charge for?
