Did you DISABLE TPMS? I want TPMS control module/receiver

I have a 2005 Sport that needs a TPMS control module/receiver update. I have found a control module on ebay for $53 but need the receiver as well. I need a unit that is 2006-2009. My current unit only sends a "tire psi good or tire psi bad" signal information to the Maestro RR because that is how it was built in the early years. Once TPMS was standardized, the units now send tire pressure psi, and tire temp info to the computer. I've looked at the TPMS disable thread and it looks like it has the same connection from 2004-2009. I know I'll have to have the tires reset and paired with the new unit. I bought all new OEM sensors last year. Thanks for any help.

I found a control module on ebay for $35. On it's way. I'll report back to see if this solved my issue with giving tpms tire psi and temp. Crossing my fingers it works.

Unfortunately, getting a 2007 control module did not solve my problem of displaying the TPMS pressure and temp. I’ve talked to Maestro tech support and they said that my model year only supports readings of “good/bad” to the control module. Updated TPMS send psi and tire temp info to the control module. Maybe someone with more electrical knowledge can chime in. gshadow seems to think it’s the high speed CAN BUS but Maesteo tech told me they get their information from the K line. 🤷🏽*♂️

Update

This is an update to the issue I was having when I initially posted.

I decided to update my Kenwood 891HD to a Apple Car Play compatible Kenwood 697S.

One issue I had when I switched out the unit was my steering control buttons would not work. I looked up the 697S on the Maestro website and it was not compatible with my Maestro. So, I had to buy a new Maestro RR module. Once I bought the updated Maestro unit(which has 2xCAN), flashed it with my HU and installed it, I immediately got TPMS readings which show the actual pressure and temp of the tire. I'm very happy with the new unit.

That's great, do you know if the your 2005 would be the same as a 2004, if so what's the part number for the updated module?

Wonder why it doesn't display the spare tire info.

@AuSeeker The Maestro displays the spare tire psi in a menu that is a tucked away. The Maestro unit that I had was a 2014 module. Luckily, all I had to do was unplug the old unit and plug the new unit in. I had a shop wire it up when I had the 1st Kenwood HU installed. If you have TPMS in your 2004, it should be able to work with an updated Maestro RR unit. The one I got has a manufacture date of 9/17/2019. The old unit was produced in 2014. I think the mean difference is that the new unit has 2xCAN bus. Hope this helps. I've included some more pictures because I like seeing pictures on posts

I have one other question to final get the TPMS to display, did you use the 2007 module or the original 2005 module?

I used the 2007 module. I didn't take it out since it would have been a hassle to take it out, go to Discount Tire and have the tech reprogram the tires(although he did it for free when I changed out the TPMS module).

When I talked to Maestro tech support about the issue. They told me it was the tech that was sending the message to the Maestro unit. From my original post, you can see that the tires have a green square but no number. The maestro tech told me that back in the early days of TPMS, the unit would only send a single of 'green=good' red= bad"or...under the 28 or 29psi threshold.

I also talked to @gshadow325 who has more knowledge about these units than me, and he also stated something of not having enough CAN bus thingamajigger.

You can try and get an update Maestro RR and see if gives you the psi/temp on your unit before you go buy a later model TPMS ECU module.

Oh wow this is real cool. I have not updated my maestro RR in years that's in my lexus. My 03 didn't have high speed can bus like they do in 2005/2006 change over when the trucks went vvti. It's great to see that the older cars work. They don't do much development for these cars now. So they RR never worked.

Btw old or new idatalink products can always be updated. They are not like directed and Fortin where you can't update after xx years. Fortin only allows you to update a module 8x after that you buy a new one. Directed just simply deletes features and make you pay for it extra.
