Thanks! That's encouraging to hear

New carpet, just bought the kit from stock interiors. Going to do the headliner too. The color is damn near a perfect match to the back of the 2nd row of seats. It's a good call and get rid of all of the old smells.

The padding in the old carpet was actually quite damp/deteriorated.

Lol I'll still be driving this thing in 2068 if I have my way!

I actually had not thought of that! I did use internal frame coat from eastwood so hopefully I'll be ok. I ended up chasing every thread anyway to be safe.

Yeah I found them after I posted that. Seriously considering it since my new-to-me 4th gen has a mild funk to it that I can't seem to get rid of. I'm afraid it's in the seats too though. What color gray did you go with? They seem to have several options.

I used 8075 Medium Gray for the carpet and M2140 Medium Dark Pewter for the headliner. They seem to be darn near a perfect match.

Reviving an old thread

Howdy! I am sorry to say that I will likely be embarking on this journey sometime soon....

Are you happy with the results and was the amount of time worth it for you roughly 2 years later? Also any advice on things to look out for would be greatly appreciated!

I've got a 2004 Limited 4WD V8 that is in flawless condition, minus the rusted frame and a busted rear axle. Learned my lesson to never buy a used car from the salt belt.

Thoroughly pleased! Just make sure to get all the rust off the frame and POR 15 it. Also use eastwood's internal frame coat to be sure. I also think that once you're under there take the time and money to do anything right. Buy once cry once. It'll cost a lot more to go back in and redo anything later.

Good luck!
