Replaced the grille, garnish and door handles today. Took a total of about 3 hours.
The thread K.C. posted on removing door handles for the Tacoma was extremely helpful. The only deviation for the 4Runner is removing the rear door handles. When you reach step 11, follow these directions instead:
11a) Reach into the door, pull the latch mechanism toward the inside of the door.
11b) There is a small hole that is covered by a circular piece of white/clear tape. Reach inside the door and punch the piece of tape out with your finger. This allows access to the Torx fastener that retains that back door handle "cap".
