Old Man Emu

Just finished the OME lift the other day. It is a V6 SR5 with no intention of additional weight, so i went with the lighter springs and was glad i did so, as it rides stiffer. It rides how a truck should ride though, no more Caddilac suspension for sure. Just a couple of quick before and afters, it netted 3" in the front and just over 2 in the back.

Just finished the first mod to my 2004 4Runner!

FJ Cruiser springs with Bilstein shocks and a Daystar 1" spacer up front to level it out:

Struts assembled:

BEFORE:

AFTER:

This is a great mod for anyone looking for a little more ride height with a slightly firmer ride and better handling. This should have been how the 4Runner came stock from the factory! I can't find my before measurements but when I do I'll post them, I "think" I ended up with +1.5" in the front and +0.5" lift in the rear.

EDIT: Pro's and Con's removed

Here is another pic of my runner on 35's. The last one I posted it just got the tires put on in the shop.
Still need to clean it up a bit and chop the body mount.

I put my pro comp 7005 17x8in rims on thursday! The 4.5in backspace brings the wheels just outside of the flares, it gives the truck a real nice stance without wheel spacers!

Before/after Toytec 3" ultimate + 1" body with 285/70/17s

This is my 07 SR5 4Runner before and after photos. I opted for Firestone Destination ATs since this is my drive to work vehicle and most of my time is spent in 15 MPH traffic. They are 285 70 17s.

We are planning a trip in the 4Runner this summer, so road noise during that was a concern for tire choice. These tires are amazingly silent, but still have a nice tread pattern. I'll get 4 more when I wear these out. Love em.

The lift is a 3" Toytec Ultimate with the additional 1" body kit. I have Spidertrax spacers as well. I love the lift. After some light plastic trimming I have zero rubbing short of full flex. It rides smooth, handles fine, as is not too stiff or too bouncy. I believe it is right where it should be and I am an extremely happy customer!

I did not install it myself. A shop in Clute, TX did it for me and they treated me right.

My next mods will be a Shrokworks bumper and bigger brakes. After that a roof rack.

Distant future mods are a winch, then the TRD supercharger, rooftop tent, then maybe some wheels like dreadog's. Those are sweet! Your truck looks righteous dreadog.

You folks have some sweet trucks. Thanks for all the good info on this site. I look forward to hanging out with y'all a while.

Be safe,
Randy

I confess that I am a 5th Gen H8R...looks like something my granny would drive I'm SO disappointed...maybe they will grow on me in time.

Lift and Tires= OME 884 springs with Toytec 1/2" spacer up front, Nitrocharger Sport shocks, and Toytec Superflex coils on the rear. Just put the tires on which are Bridestone Revo2's 265 70 17's. Just need the sway bar relocate and Ill be good to go. Just a bit of rubbing on the sway bar and spring perch. People keep telling me it shouldnt rub, but let me tell you it does, and it is installed correctly.

Hey Guys,

Just got my 265/65/17 Revo 2's mounted on my SR5. Opted to go white letters out...don't see many of them showing letters. Let me know what you think!

Here's mine: FJ Cruiser Springs and Toytec spacer (1/2" thick) on the front, stock rear (OEM rear air suspension) sitting on 255/75/17 Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10's. I got 1.5" from the springs and spacer, then another 1.5" from the tires (went from stock 265/65/17 but they measured 29" tall, the new tires are 32's).

1. Bilstein 5100 front shocks, Daystar Rear 1.5" spacers, and FJ springs.
2. Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor 255/75/17
3. I love the setup, the ride is firmer now but feels great!
