lmao...that's a load of bs. the only reason the lucas oil lessens the noise is because it's thick as hell and doesn't run off as fast as normal weight oil will.

It's about 60 here in the morning, and I get it.

i used the full synthetic lucas oil and its not that think. also i only did it on two oil changes and no longer use it ($14 a bottle), so i will have to disagree with you.

Perhaps on his next oil change he'll try a good synthetic and his clicking will disappear. 'Till then it's just guesswork, unless he's concerned enough to do an early oil change. I waited the normal mileage to change out from dino to synthetic, knowing the clicking would go away with the oil change. I'm getting a faint clicking as my oil is past 5k, should get around to changing it again.

tic tic tic

I have a ticking sound for awhile, I thiught it was a bad exhaust manifold gasket,,,but nooo, anyone ever try to take off the exhaust manifold on one of these 4.7's ?????? it's a job and a half just to get the heat shield off, the top two bolts come out, the two bottom ones broke off, then try to get the manifold bolts off, if you can reach them,,,,, oh sorry for rambling on, this job is a pain int the azz,,,,,,, I hace a cracked exhaust manifold, it looks to be cracked all the way around between the first and second cylinders on the left side of the engine,,,,,,,,,,,,fun fun fun but I think that toyota gets $1200.00 to replace the manifold, I will be welding it, if I can get it off........

It's been discussed before several times on the forum. Here's a link to one of the treads.
