2005 JBL system wiring harness - HELP!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm knee deep in my stereo install...truck is completely gutted from roof to floor and the stereo harness I bought does not fit. I've read countless threads and couldn't find mention of a wiring harness for the following situation:

Pertinent info:
2005 4runner w/ factory JBL system
I'm replacing H/U, wiring, speakers, etc, etc.
All I need is a harness that will give me power/ground/remote, etc from the factory JBL plugs that I can wire my alpine harness into!

Obviously many people have done this and I don't want to start tapping the factory harness so please help!

(this probably belongs in the audio section but I'm desperate for some quick info...)

I added a photo to simplify things. Thanks for any help!

The JBL system needs a different harness than a standard one. Can't say I've heard of an Alpine harness so maybe it's one but the popular one is a PAC TATO, it's a plug and play into the JBL system.

I just did mine about a month ago and it's really easy.

Maybe this is the problem?

I've seen the Pac TATO harness but I was led to believe it was meant for retaining the factory wiring/amp, etc.

I just need a simple adapter harness (without the integration stuff) that will plug into the factory dash wires and leave me loose strands to wire my Alpine headunit harness into.

The TATO is for retaining the OEM amp. However, to my knowledge that's what you'll need to get this done. I was going to mention tapping the OEM wires as that would be the cheapest, but doesn't sound like that's an option. The non-JBL 4runners have a completely different plug so you can't use the standard harness (which I believe is what you have now). You'll need the TATO or the Metra TYTO-01.

Thanks! That's what I was starting to assume....

I'm fine with tapping the harness, but figured there would be a $10 adapter out there to simplify things.

I could go ahead and just match wire colors but i've heard horror stories about doing so. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the factory harness so I know what pins/wires I need to go after?

Thanks again for the help!

Thanks for the quick replies and all the assistance. I'd been assuming all this time there was some harness adapter for those ppl looking to convert (and bypass the JBL) to a full aftermarket system...oh well. Guess there isn't a big enough market.

I'm taking a lot of pics and will be posting an all-encompassing walk-through so hopefully I can pay it forward for those doing this in the future.

I Bought This for JBL Synthesis 10 Speaker system

Bought this and worked great. Harness didn't fit exactly properly onto factory but with some forceful elbow grease it worked perfect.

Yes Brian I just received the TYTO-01 kit today. My question is, only one harness, the 20 pin harness from inside my truck plugs into that kit. Where do the other 2 go? Also there's 2 antennae plugs coming from my truck but I only have one in the back of my new deck. Help!!

Oh gotcha, I didn't connect the other two. Everything works perfect.

I also purchased a Maestro steering wheel control adapter which splices into one of the other plugs coming out of the car. but without anything connected into those, everything works perfect. Remember, on the Axxess adapter to put the toggle gain almost all the way up.

Thanks Brian! I'm new at this but what do you mean by putting the toggle gain all the way up?

Also, now I can't get my mounting brackets to screw into the new deck. The holes line up perfect but there's no thread on the holes that I need. Any suggestions? I also had to grind down one of the location pins on the mounting brackets for it to sit flush on my new deck.

So should I get that steering wheel control adapter? It's not a huge deal but I do like controlling the volume from the steering wheel.
