How do you UN-program a key fob?!

Hey guys, this is a bit of a weird problem:

So I needed a new key fob for my 2006 Sport because mine broke. My friend has a 2007 Sport and has 3 fobs that he doesn't use because he has an aftermarket alarm, so he let me have one. I programmed it to my car no problem, works great! The problem is that it didn't UNprogram itself for my friend's car. So whenever we hang out and I lock or unlock or roll down my back window, the exact same thing happens on his car. And when I unlock his car with the stock fob, and then he does it with his aftermarket remote and gets in, the alarm goes off....

So anyways, we're at the beach right now together with some friends for a week and it's driving him CRAZY, can anyone help me out?

As I understand the instructions to programing the RKEs, all the RKEs must be programmed at once. Once programmed to the vehicle, the RKEs remain in the vehicle's memory until the next reprogramming.

So what he needs to do is reprogram all his RKEs to his vehicle. That should erase any previous RKEs stored in his vehicle's memory.

You should be good to go - you shouldn't have to reprogram your vehicle. But he needs to do his to erase previous RKEs.

Well I'm not sure that works because when I programmed the one he gave me, my old one still worked fine. It sounds like my old one should have stopped working if you were correct.

Try it - you have nothing to lose. Might even try it more than once if it does not take the first time.

I'm sure the dealer can reset it for your buddy with their scan tool for a fee.

However, the programming instructions say to do all the RKEs at the same time to reset the computer.

Nothing gained if you don't try.
