Bummer Okki!
Those lights are just generic idiot lights and don't necessarily translate to the problem. I need the ECU fault code to be able to trouble shoot. That's why a scangauge or any OBDII gauge is an invaluable tool to have in a vehicle IMO.
Generic fix try is reset the ECU by disconnecting neg side of battery for 10 seconds and reconnecting.

Get her towed to where they can pull the trouble codes! Good Luck!!
I told you you should have bought the heep

Oh no! Perhaps the CB install shorted something? I agree with Harper, while it's not useful information now, having a ScanGauge certainly comes in handy at times like this...

Good luck!

well... my phone died on the trip home, but pics will come shortly. I didn't take a pic of the gauge cluster as I was too busy talking to road side assistance (USAA). Got it towed (flatbed) to the local Toyota dealer who closed right as we pulled up, so no loaner or codes until I talk to them tomorrow.

I was sitting at a light and things were fine. then when I took my foot off the brake and pressed the gas the car shuddered and died. I turned the ignition off, tried to restart and voila... all the idiot lights as mentioned. it did run, but VERY under powered. Just enough to roll it to the side of the road and that was it.

[Insert 45 minute wait and 15 minute tow ride here]

Funny thing is that the gauge cluster blinked a couple times after it came off the flatbed and it started just fine after that. (the wrecker tried to start it twice along side the road and no luck). All the idiot lights where off as well, so only the ODBII codes will tell at this point.

Having driven it for two days with no issues I don't think it's my CB install and that is all on it's own circuit anyway since i powered it from the auxiliary fuse box and was grounded with it's own line to the same grounding point as the battery uses.

Just over 11K miles on the clock, so needless to say I'm a little annoyed with this.

That really sucks! There's no doubt that the dealer will try to blame it one your lights, CB, or even your roof rack. Very interested to hear about what went wrong, and sorry again you have to deal with it...

This is 2 cases in the thousands of 4runner's that exist. Take these situations as a grain of salt.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. My guess is some type of emission sensor put you into limp home mode. One hour after that, when everything cools down and clears it is fine. Good luck and let us know.

Bummer man, hope it is something simple.

A few years back I had my family in our one month old LR3 heading home on Christmas Eve. It was cold and snowing. 2 miles from home I go to hit the gas at a stoplight and the truck will barely move. Still running but no power, warning lights on. Limp across the intersection and turn it off. Wait a minute, start it back up and everything was normal. That was the only issue I had with it over 30 months. I loved the truck and wanted to keep it, but knowing what a typical LR does to the wallet in service I passed... and ordered my Trail

For the record, the dealer checked it and found nothing. They said maybe some moisture got into a key area and caused a blip. That sure was reassuring.
