I looked at raingler but purchased a safari strap cargo net. It was less $
Safari Straps
I have used it to strap down cases in the rear cargo area and rigged it up between front two seats and rear cargo with seats down when I had a bunch of crap back there. It was jerry rigged, but worked ok. Not real tight or perfectly fitting but would have mostly kept high speed objects out of the front in an accident / sudden stop.

i have a custom made net by raingler. It is awesome, the quality is second to none.
I have had it for a year, but it was a prototype based on my crude measurements and drawings. It's a little loose, but i really like it. I need to get back to the guy who makes them, as he was going to remake it for me.

I'm debating between the barrier and a cargo net that'll attach to the four tiedown points in the back of the truck. So far I have two offroad trips planned for the summer that'll involve camping with one of them being over a week long. Normally when I do a day trip it's easy to tie down the few things I need with me, but a longer camping trip means having a camp chair, table, portable grill, etc. that don't tie down easily with bungees and ratchet straps. I may start with the cargo net and get the barrier net later on. The Raingler stuff does look pretty solid in terms of quality with only some of the milspec stuff I've seen being in the same neighbourhood.

if you look at Raingler's universal stuff, at the bottom right they have "RTD tie down strap" I have a couple of these as well and they are great for holding things down, and very inexpensive.
I also reccomend changing out the current plastic "hanger holders" for what toyota calls a "luggage striker assemply". these are black metal d-rings that are much more useful.

Mtbnole... Which make / model cargo net are you using? Anyone know if the Raingler nets made for the FJ will?

Those look pretty sturdy, but the reason I'm looking for a net is to keep stuff that doesn't have tie down points under control.

BUMP!
I really want one of these nets on my 2014. Anybody have pics of how the FJ or 4th gen 4Runner nets mount to a 5th gen?? Talked to Eddie at Raingler and he said we could make it work, but I'm not sure which kit I need to order.
This is their 4th gen net:
I'm not sure how that would work in my 2014 since there's no hangers right behind the rear seats. They quite a few feet back:
And here's all the potential mounting points I see on a 2014. Pictures anybody?

I replaced the top coat hooks with D-rings and use those along with the two existing D-rings behind the back seat to hook up a cheap cargo net. I'm thinking you could use those two points to mount a custom Raingler, it would just mean the net is at an angle and you would lose a bit of cargo space at the top.

Ok that's what I was thinking too. Don't like the idea of the net being at an angle but I don't see any other way to mount it up top. I do have a few extra of these laying around, think they'll work to replace the coat hangers? Rope Ring With Clip B21 5 for $5.00
Also, what size cargo net did you go with? I don't have the truck with me to measure at the moment. Thanks!

No idea if those clips will fit or not. I used the FJC ones and they're the exact same bolt size. For $5 it's worth a shot since you can always find some other use for a D-ring if it doesn't work.
I haven't gotten around to ordering a Raingler yet mainly because I keep forgetting to take measurements. I just have a cheaper stretchy net from Canadian Tire that I use for now.
