Viper45 is correct, check page 2 for the start of the headlight build, it then continues for the next two pages or so. They are a complete custom job from Performance Auto Solutions and I couldn't be happier - they built them exactly like I wanted. They have great communication and do really high quality work. I've had the lights for about a year and they are holding up great. They still look just like new!

Here's a link to some more of the pictures:

Totally forgot I never put my rock lights in. I've had the switch for them installed and wired since last year, so I finally stuck them on and wired them today. This is the exact same setup as @SOcalTRAIL (same lights, length, location) so theres nothing new here. I was really surprised at how much light these put out! Super quick to install too.

Just a few pictures:

I'm looking for some opinions here. I'm going to be put my grill lights in today, but I can't decide if I should cut the grill so they can sit flush (or a little forward) of the grill itself. Or if I should just leave them behind like everyone else. Here's a photoshop of them flush. Opinions welcome.

I'd feel more comfortable if those expensive lights were behind the grill. if they are in front, all it takes is some a-hole to walk by and yank them right off.

Looks good this way and different from everyone's. Can you take a pic of light bar behind the grill, so we can compare. I like the stealth look, but this setup is very nice.

I say flush. It'll be easier to wipe them off when they get dirty.

I'm going to go for the flush mount. I will post back later with details.

LED DRL's

Alright so I got some more done on the truck today. First is another small project that I have been wanting to do for a while. LED DRL/turns. Most people know you can't simply pop an LED bulb in their as the resistance is wrong for the turn signal flasher assembly and it will either burn it out, or flash it quickly. I had been using the PIAA Pure White bulbs for a while (found these on @harper7 's build) but these have a very pronounced blue tint to them (even when off you can see the blue bulb behind the DRL lens). I wanted something that was pure white to match the halos in my headlight retrofit. To be honest I wasn't looking for these, but I stumbled upon a new product over at vleds a few days ago when I was just browsing. These bulbs have a control box between the power and the bulb to equalize the resistance so it plays nice with most cars.

Here are the lights 5K WHITE V3 TRITON LED SYSTEM | 1 PAIR - White LED - 1156 LED - Bulb #

They are very expensive for just two bulbs, but they are very high quality and throw out a heck out a lot of light.

These bulbs are multipurpose LED's, so they have adapters that allow you to use them for multiple locations if you choose. It's a pretty cool product and is presented well. the 1156 wire adapters that they included for me didn't work, so I just made my own but other than that these bulbs are great. And they are SERIOUSLY bright. I can drive down a road now with only my DRL's on...its crazy how bright they are. They also match my halos perfectly now.

Here's the bulb:

Installed in the housing:

The control box mounted:

I'll try and get some pictures of them on later.

Now for the fun project - the grill lights. I ordered my lights for this to basically be a mini version of what is on my roof rack. So I got one Rigid 10" SR, and a set of Rigid SR-Q's (these are new but are basically just dually d2's in a different arrangement). I have wanted to make a DIY version of Rigid grill (that doesn't cost $500+) for a while now, and @SOcalTRAIL s's light bracket gave me the chance. So here it goes.

First things first, SoCal's bracket is great, BUT if you want your LED's to protrude through the grill, you have to modify it a bit as it won't allow for the lights to fit far enough forward. So I went out and got a 1/8" stock piece of steel and went to work on it.

I traced the outline of the grill onto the metal so I could make the bracket extend all the way to where the grill sits.

Start cutting!

Now with it cut out, I put clammed it over SoCal's bracket (the painted one) to drill holes and mount them together.

Here it is sitting on the truck, took a little work but it fits great!

Now for the hard part, lining up the lights

Measuring and marking a hole for the 10" SR

Cutting it out with a dremel.

Moving on to the SR-Q's...

Grill is done! Disclaimer: This took forever. I used a dremel with a cutoff wheel and cut the wholes small, and then slowly sanded them larger until the light fit just right. Getting this right took a lot of time and some of the holes are still a little big.

Drilling holes to mount the lights:

View from the top with the lights secured: I hid the wiring below the bracket but above the winch, there is just enough room.

SR-Q's in!

All done!

View from behind:

All done, here's a bad picture of it parked out in front of my shop in the rain:

Obligatory switch pictures. This is the standard LED BAR switch from OTRATTW but I had them change the text from "LED Bar" to "Amber Grill Lights".

Lit:

Amber On:

Amber + big daddy:

This took forever, but I really like the results! Also I had to repaint the grillcraft grill satin back as the dremel work exposed some bare metal along the edges of the holes for the lights.

Do you have pictures with those LED's as your DRL's? I've been scoping those too.
