I'm not sure why there is so much disdain toward the silver trim piece, and why people think it would be better to rattle can their new car. Maybe I'm one of the few that actually likes it and thinks that it completes the front end by accenting the headlights. In any case, I suppose you can order a replacement trim piece if you decide later down the line that it was a mistake to spray paint the bumper.

The thing about plastidip is that it doesn't require alteration of anything oem. Which is to say, if someone doesn't like it, just peel it off and return to as new. No sanding, just clean and spray on 4+ coats.

I personally dislike chrome or chrome plastic, but also don't want to have to replace everything down the line if/when I want to return to stock.

Viynl seems pretty hard to get right compared to plastidip. I think a $10 can that you spray and can peel off sound easier. I've never looked, is vinyl expensive?

A little bit, but it looks much better than plastidip, imho. I never cared for that look on body panels/trim. I do like it on some wheels though!

I second that notion! Remember to always think twice and paint once.

Looks really nice. Does anyone know if that "chin guard" will fit on an SR5? If so, are there reference points behind the bumper to drill out the holes for the clips?

I just bought a 2015 SR5 and wanted the front and rear "valance" (that's what the Toyota dealer parts guy said it's called in the book). It is a small part and could have easily have been 3m'ed on. Seems like they went crazy with the clips instead. You'd have to cut slits into your SR5 bumper to put it on. I'd love to have that bumped out look front and rear but I'm not gonna carve up my new baby.

Think I'll just paint the top bar around the Toyota logo and bottom lip black.

I agree, but then again mine is Attitude Black so painting it black would make it look like an SR5 or Ltd. Mine will stay silver as will the wheels. I like the contrast.

Plastidip for the win. Doesn't take much time. Be sure to put atleast 4 coats on, makes it easier to peel the excess.
