I will get some pictures of the no rise Gobi up tomorrow, when it's light out.

Honestly how bad of wind noise are we talking? Scaring me away from getting a Gobi rack considering I do a lot of highway driving at 80-85+mph.

I'm in the exact same boat. I was pretty much sold on the Frontrunner Slimline 3/4 rack (I have a moonroof). Then, @KiruxaT4R sent me a PM saying he got rid of his 3/4 Frontrunner because of bad wind noise and interference with the shark fin antennae reception. He recommended Gobi so now I'm torn. Especially given the price difference. The Gobi is significantly more expensive.

Lots of conflicting info on here unfortunately. I've read good reports on the Frontrunner too. I don't understand. Isn't everything you read on the internet true? Gobi Rack Wind Noise

Gobi Rack Wind Noise

You can always get the Yakima 3/4 rack like Warthog and his 4Runner. It comes with the Yakima wind deflector and it still sit behind the moon proof

I do highway driving to and from work daily (37 miles each way). It's pretty windy in Texas where I'm at (coastal/gulf). I have the stealth Gobi with the wind deflector, and I just put a 40" light bar on this weekend. Combine the fairing and the light bar, the wind noise dropped low enough that I can listen to classical music at volume 28 (50% ish) on the way to work (kinda need that music for being in traffic)

With the fairing on, my wind noise (for a no rise Gobi) is negligible. Any rack that is up over the drivers seat will have some detectable noise. Here are the requested pics for my Gobi no rise rack. Hate to do this but every time I upload a new pic it deletes the studying one. So this will be in multiple posts.

Just install some oversized tires with aggressive treads. You won't hear any wind noise. lol

I have the Gobi stealth, and I do 70 miles highway driving a day usually around 80mph. I played around with mine, with nothing on the rack, no faring and no light bar the wind noise was insane. Better with the faring on. The light bar is 40" straight both light bar and faring the noise was okay. Removed the faring and just running the light bar and I hear no noise.

I didn't know about it either, when I called Gobi to order I was asking about the rise in the front and describing to the woman what I was going to use the rack for (paddle boards and surf skis). I was trying to see if I could improvise something to overcome the front bar being higher, when she told me they could build it "no rise". Although it took a little longer than I hoped to get it, I can't say enough about how well they treated me.
