Adjustable Track Bar w/KDSS

So I ordered that icon stage 2 kit and the sales person told me that I needed the adjustable track bar since I have KDSS. I've researched the topic and found conflicting opinions as to whether I need it or not.

I'd like to save $300 if it isn't necessary to purchase. I only do mild off-roading to get to camp sites. So is the adjustable track bar a must have for KDSS and a 2 inch rear lift?

I have icon 2" rear springs with my setup, and KDSS. I didn't need the adjustable track bar, but when flexed, I can see exactly where the clearance issue exists for some.

But I've been on the trails several times since the lift, and no issues for me at all.

Of course, YMMV

I'm running a similar lift, 3"/2", no rear track bar needed.

Not required...

The adjustable part is to get you axle re-centered after the lift. ICON also sells one with a bend in it to clear the kdss swaybar at full flex.. but it won't be a problem....

So none of you guys hear a clunk when you go over potholes kind of fast? Guess I'm going to call and tell them to take the bar off my bill.

We make an adjustable rear track bar too, and when we went to install it and center it, it was virtually the exact same length as stock, so we didn't bother putting it in. That's with 2.5-3" of lift too. The rear axle just doesn't get too far off center. The upper and lower rear control arms do a good job of centering it I guess.

FYI, our Dobinsons are $215.00

Agreed, i have KDSS and never needed the track bar (pan hard). For my setup the rear axle was off-center, but not by much.

However, I have bigger plans for the future (if you do not then don't worry about it)...and added Rokmen rear trailing, uppers, and their trackbar. I'm centered back there, upgraded to stronger arms, and ready for my next suspension setup!

Good thread...exactly the info needed. Local installer wanted $3K plus for installing Icon Stage 1's w/the track bar after telling them I had KDSS. Should save me some dough...thanks!

$3k plus for Stage 1s?

Even without the track bar they are sticking it to you. Install shouldn't be more than a couple hundred since they not doing the UCAs.
