This is super confusing since all 5th gens except 2017+ and some 2016 are under a phased recall for the front passenger airbag.
The article states.
I've already had mine replaced, so not sure if this is any different. My guess is this is just confusing news about the same recall that has been going on for a few years. It just now covers 2013 then 2014... nex year...

I'd spend all winter on Sanibel if the wife would. She always wants someplace different.
Probably spend Feb in Panama City Beach.
Looks like you'll have decent weather.
what I have heard is repair work continues . roof damage etc..
friend has place in Naples lucked out no damage just clean up.

It is super confusing. Last I read, I am under the same impression, they all get replaced over the next decade.

They gave you wrong information..
If you have not had the airbag replaced yet... it will need to be done eventually.
This has been discussed over and over here.
There is a schedule based on year and exposure to humidity and heat (based on where the vehicle is registered). All 5th gens from 2010-2016 were produced with the defective airbag. Some late model 2016s came with the update. All 2017 and beyond got the update.
The dealers get confused because the vehicle will not show as active recall until a certain date based on the schedule and availability including your location.
The news has made the situation more confusing.. since they state more vehicles added... This is nothing new really. Most of the schedule has been out for years.. they are just trying to sensationalize it more.. That is what the news does these days sadly. Best to ignore 95% of it.

Received a call from GanleyToyota today informing me of open recall with the airbag on my '10 I just bought last month. They said about 1.5 hours to do the work.

Had mine done last week and they quoted me 7 hours to complete the job .....and used all 7 hours..... guessing a certain company will be sent a fat labor bill..... yes, I logged mileage in/mileage out .....
Got my recall done last weekend for the passenger airbag. I now live in Colorado, but my 2013 Limited was originally purchased in Florida. So I guess it is based on where your vehicle was purchased based on the map zones, not where it is currently registered? When I signed the paperwork, the invoice the dealer was billing Toyota for was for $5xx and change. I think the parts where $2xx plus 3 hours of labor.
anyone know - guessing this fix has to have the dash removed?
I noticed a large scratch across my hazard light switch (very noticeable) that wasnt there before...
When i picked the car it up was dark out so i didnt notice it until a day later...
Headed back to the dealer to complain
