Thank you. Why did you choose the preload spacer versus the Daystar top spacer or Toytec spring seat spacer (item BAJA1 for TRD Pro)?

Quick question for you guys. If I buy this kit and years later if I need a shock replaced would it be impossible to find. Or would the bilstein 6112 be an exact replacement or would the valving be wrong?

Generally, for alignment purposes, you replace shocks in pairs. I personally wouldn't replace just a single shock, unless the other was still virtually new.

From what I gather throughout this thread and others, the valving would be slightly different; but I don't know how noticeable that would be from the driver seat. I would think that you could replace with 1 (or 2) 6112s and not be too upset.

Something to keep in mind, this kit comes with the replacement springs that fit around the 2.5 body shock. Unless you keep your old springs or plan to buy new ones, you might be stuck buying 6112s going forward.

Haha. Funny enough, I considered buying two kits for that reason. Then I realized I was crazy.

You can call around to your local dealers as they may have the kit. The stock is certainly drying up.

Alright ordered from my local dealer. I read about needing the top hats. Do I also need to order bolts to mount the reservoirs on the rears? Any other parts I need? Not planning to add any spacers.

Did they have it stock? Mine told me they'd order it, then called back to say it was discontinued and couldn't, had to get a refund etc etc. Just a heads up...

1st post gents. Just started reading up on suspension options for 2014 TE. She’s stock and the first set of tires are about done so I thought I’d kill 2 birds with one stone.

Don’t intend to have a serious wheeler (‘77 FJ-40 does that trick) but would like to raise her up enough to upsize with new shoes. Thought I had missed out on this deal but used an EBay link and have the kit coming. Looking forward to the install and spending some time on this forum.

I’ve not checked on these, but higher line Bilsteins are usually rebuildable. Just send them to Bilstein or a reputable ship for rebuild/re-valve work. That’s main reason to keep stock intact.
