any pics of them mounted? I purchased the bilstein ones at 70 which arrived yesterday. I would still prefer the stock mounts that came with this but I need find a solution for the loose one on drivers rear side. Would prefer black as well

KDSS 4Runners have a hole already in place however it isn't threaded. That explains the use for additional hardware (jack nut, screw, washers). By drilling, I believe they meant just enlarging the hole slightly so the jack nut will fit. Your installer will not be creating a brand new hole. Just wanted to clarify in case there was any confusion.

When installed correctly it will fit. No need to spend additional $$$ on clamps. Use what came with your kit
Bingo. Just enlarge the hole, paint it and go from there. Money saved can go somewhere else.

Just a local shop - Graf’s Garage in Dundalk. They always get great feedback and referrals, and have a reputation for being honest.

goes into the shop tomorrow, they should be able to correct it. I will mention this as well. Would prefer to return the bilstein clamps to save some money but not a big deal as this 4runner will be with us for at least the next 5 years or longer.

Not yet. They’ll quote me Tuesday before working on it. I dont think they wanted to give me a quote over the phone without seeing what exaxtly was includes - and me being female, they probably assumed I didn’t know what I was looking at (or contemplating installing myself).

Hehe... i have the kit since Feb and getting tired of looking at it.
I’m going to install mine tomorrow and by the way the weather prognosis looks, it’s going to be a garage install.

Bilstein TRD Pro suspension kit on sale PTR13-35140

Installed my kit yesterday with front preload spacers no spring compressor method.

Did not have time to install the rear springs.
Took about 6 hours.

Before - After
FL 34 3/4 - 37
FR 35 - 37
RL 36 1-2 - 37
RR 36 3/4 - 37

Before

After

Took it for a short spin around the neighborhood and I love the way it rides; no more nose dive or unsecured body movement over the speed bumps or potholes.

It was a rainy day and all was done in the garage.
I had to go to the auto parts to get a 22mm wrench and socket as I was missing it.
I recommend to get Ratcheting Wrenches (17mm and 19mm) to eliminate frustration over removing and mounting shock’s top nuts.
