Kicker Subaru Tweeter Upgrade for 4runner?
Anyone successfully do the Kicker tweeter upgrade for a 5th gen 4Runner? Someone on FB mentioned it was direct plug and play swap, had not heard of anyone doing it on a 4runner. Curious if so what your thoughts are on sound difference?

Thanks for sharing! I added a Kicker Hideaway Sub and that tremendously helped the weak OEM audio and these look to improve it as well

Throw a set of 3.5" 2 way speakers in the dash, huge upgrade over having just a tweeter.

Installing a 3.5" 2 way speaker in place of the tweeter fills in the frequency gap between the 6x9 in the door and the tweeter in the dash. More full and clean sound.

How does this compare pricewise, and performance wise, to other brands of aftermarket tweeters? I tend to do mods because I can, but sometimes it's not the best option available. Take, for example, the $75 cupholder in an 80 series LC.

Also, replacing the stock 3.5 inch full-range dash speakers, crappy as they are, with 1 inch or smaller tweeters will cause much of the mid-range sound to be lost, like vocals, guitar solos, etc.

The little 2.5" stock tweeter does very little for mids. There is a huge gap in frequency response between the door and dash from the factory. The stock 6x9 in the front door is decent, replacing the stock tweeter with a 2 way 3.5" speaker is a huge improvement.

These are in no way going to compete with swapping all the door speakers, adding and amp and subwoofer like OEM Audio plus, but for $95 and 10 minutes of time without splicing or modifications what I’ve read is that it does make a pretty big difference in clarity. I had OEM Audio plus in my previous 4runner and just ordered these kicker tweeters today with same day shipping so will see if this enough to satisfy my needs vs dropping $1800 for OEM Audio plus again.
