Hey guys,

Being a supporting vendor on here for so long has worn off on me :-) I just purchased a 2011 SR5 in black :-) I pick it up on Thursday!!! I got a base SR5. Canadian models are all 4WD and come with running boards standard.

In short, I love it!

Just wondering what some of you guys have don in terms of fabric protection in your T4R. The dealership wants $300 to protect the fabric and I am thinking about doing it given that we have a 15 month old baby that will be hanging out in the back seat on occasion.

Thoughts???

I guess it might be worth it if you can find out what the dealership uses and it turns out to be something worthwhile. But I would Scotchguard the seats myself for that much cash. I waited for leather in my SR5 to help fight the baby goo.
 
Wet Okole seat covers. Heavy duty neoprene fabric custom made with your colors and fits like a glove. I'm getting ready to order a set of black ones with tan piping to go with my two tone interior.

Thanks for the warm welcome :-) I'm super excited about getting this vehicle. I can't believe how little this truck depreciates. I was looking at getting used 2010 models and it just didn't make any sense to get preowned.... This is my first Toyota vehicle.

First on the mod list for me is weathertech digital liners given the amount of snow and slush we've had.

Thanks for the info about the seat protection. I may just look into scotch guarding the interior myself... I really don't want to give the dealer $300 + Tax to do it....

Welcome to the family!

Not sure what the fabric protection they are offering, but I did a bunch of research on what they offered here in Colorado (Enviro-guard Resist All). According to my research, it's just a scam and is no better than scotch guarding it yourself. Google it and you'll find other forums talking about it. One has a guy that works at a dealership that said it's complete BS.

That is what I did when I got my brand new 4Runner in 2001. I put some more on in about 5 years. I Scotchguard the front and back seats.
 
Congrats Steve!

I've used ScotchGuard on my Tacoma's fabric. It needs to be reapplied probably every other year or so, otherwise it loses it's water repellent ability. You'll probably 2-3 cans to spray down the interior. I would cover the dash, if that material is anything like 4th gen 4Runner and 2nd gen Tacoma's.
 
Really, all the dealership does is spray the seats with a Scotchguard-like product, which costs them about $15. You will achieve the same results buying two cans of 3M or SG from Canadian Tire and spraying the seats yourself - just make sure not to overspray.

Seat covers are also a great idea and the wet okoles seem to be the best - couple of threads here on it.

Picking up the truck tomorrow so will post up some pictures this weekend! I ended up getting the dealer to install the bluetooth and Satellite radio option.
