lumbar support 'crunching'
Ive got a 2010 4Runner Sr5 with 12000 miles. About 1000 miles ago I started to notice that the lumbar support on the driver side was kind of crunchy. I can feel it basically give way under my weight. The best way I can describe it as a crunchy feeling in the actual lumbar support when press back. I only way 175lbs so I dont believe its an excessive weight/pressure issue. Anyone else experiencing this?

I weigh 200 lbs and have the support fully extended....no crunchy feeling at all.
If you need the support, take it in...it should be under warranty.

I have a similar issue. I bought my 2010 Black Limited in June and around October I started noticing a "crunching" in the lumbar support. I keep my support about half way to full. It occurs usually when I'm on a bumpy road and is not something that happens often. However, its enough to hear/feel it when it does happen.

See the below thread....
popping/creaking noise on seats?
I have it in mine, been waiting to hear of a fix before I take it in but it was been over a year, guess I might have to take it to the dealer soon.

Mine's doing it, and I reduced how far it comes out, which seemed to help.
But I'm over 3 bills...so I can make most things "pop and creak"...

Has anyone with this problem taken their vehicle to the dealer and gotten this issue addressed?

I've had the same problem. I have 2500 miles on mine and started to notice it about 1000 miles ago and it seems to have gotten worse. I like to keep mine fully inflated, but that should not cause the support to be "crunching". I have an apointment for the 10th of May.

Yeah, It took 2 trips to the dealer but they replaced the entire seatback. It started crunching not long after I bought it. Thought it was just me or something. They found that the bar that pushes out as the lumbaqr support was broken. Demand it be fixed and it will be.

Mine is doing the same. Had the dealer look at it last Friday when I took it in for for 5k service but they couldn't duplicate the crunching and said they would have to take the seat apart to look for what is causing it. Not too excited about that. It's pretty consistent and annoying though.

As far as I know there is no TSB for it. My dealer told me the same thing that they couldnt duplicate it and would have to take it apart to figure it out. They called me a few days later and told me the new seatback came in and to bring my truck down to replace it. Not sure what happened to the take it apart and inspect it thing but Im OK with that. They replaced my seatback, stereo and di the tranny TSB in half a day.
