cheaper alternative to Michelin LTX M/S?

Hello,

I am looking to get new tires for my t4r. The Michelin LTX M/S that were installed at 90K miles or so (now has 160K) are just about finished, and I figure I'd rather get them changed before winter hits. However, LTXs are not currently compatible with my budget. Are there any other tires that are close in performance to the LTXs without paying $125 a tire?

You dont wanna pay $125 a tire? You're getting michelin LTX M/S for $125 each!!! Please let me know where cause that is cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, a bunch. Shopping mostly by price is kind of a buzz kill on getting warm fuzzies about the awesomeness of one's tires, but there aren't large differences in the performance of comparable tires.

Grab a copy of the latest Consumer Reports and check out the tire report. If you look beyond the structure of the rankings, the fairly subtle performance differences will become apparent and you'll find some really good bangs for the buck. Pick two or three and then see if there are additional savings to be found on a particular tire locally.
