Install Instructions: C4 Fab Fuel Tank skid

Fuel Tank Skid:

Tools required- 12mm wrench (ratcheting swivel box end works best), 12mm socket and various extensions, Two 9/16 wrenches or sockets or combo of one each, Floor jack to lift skid plate into position.

Hardware included: 3, 3/8"x 1" bolts with flat washers, split washers, and nuts.

1) Using the 12mm wrench and 12mm socket with extensions, remove all six of the 8mm bolts holding the original fuel tank skid in place. Three of them are along the bottom side of the frame rail on the driver side next to the fuel tank. The fourth is farther back on the bottom of the frame rail on the driver side near the side of the fuel tank, right next to the rear sway bar link mount. The fifth is above and a little bit forward of the rear axle up high on a cross member near the bottom of the body. The sixth is next to the drive shaft towards the front top area of the fuel tank. The sixth bolt is easiest to remove with the ratcheting swivel box end 12mm wrench.

2) Using the supplied 3/8" bolts, attach the mounting legs to the new fuel tank skid as shown in the picture. Make sure the legs are mounted on the inside lip of the skid. Leave the bolts just snug enough to keep the legs from falling over, but still adjustable.

3) Balance the skid plate on the floor jack and roll it into position underneath the fuel tank.

4) Raise the skid plate up into position while making sure not to catch the mounting legs on the drive shaft or other areas on the way up.

5) Loosely thread in the 3 bolts on the bottom side of the frame rail first, then install the rest of the bolts through the mounting legs and into the original mounting holes.

6) Once all of the bolts are in place and the skid is adjusted properly, tighten down all of the 12mm bolts to a max of 30 lb-ft.

7) Now tighten the three 3/8' bolts to a max of 40 lb-ft.

8) Installation is complete.

Any picture on how it interacts with your rock sliders.

What is the loss of clearance compared to stock, and stock on top of sliders.
