Show me your T4R first gen center console lid arm rest
Hi guys,
my 4Runner first gen has a center console lid, but doesn't fit correctly, I think it's not the original one. Please, show me yours.

Ignore the trash inside, that's the way I brought it home

Looks like you’re just missing the black latch. It screws in to the two holes at the front in that little cut out. You pull up on it and it unhooks itself from the storage bin. It was still available to buy on its own last I checked.

Is it? The lid in my ‘88 looks exactly like that one. I guess mine was replaced too.

Seems like some guys do this all the time, this guy went for the 3rd gen center console, but look at the first pic and that's how the 1st gen 4runner center console lid looks like.

Scroll down to where COB's is working on his '87 center console, that's another example of how the lid looks like.

I understand now. I wanted to be sure because there'are diferences between the manual and automatic center consoles, there're simple center consoles, double ones, some have plastic lids with a tray in the top, other vynil wrapped lids, there're center consoles whit deep holes/pockets in case they don't have the climate control in the back (for the passengers in the back seat), and ones with shallow holes/pockets in case they have the climate control in the back.

Hey guys, in case you're interested, I found this armrest center console lid cover:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/173041524012?ul_noapp=true
It's the leather(?) cover only. What do you think? Do you have one of those?

It looks well made.
Your 4R interior's very, did you paint the plastic parts/dashboard, etc?

i was very fortunate. all the trim pieces were still in the 4runner, except for a single bolt cover for the roof attachment behind the cab, and i didn't paint any of them. it all appears to be original.
i lucked out, in that this was the first 4runner i looked at back when i decided i was going to purchase one to replace my legacy wagon as a daily driver. there were a few missing pieces, such as the fuel filler neck gasket, a few rubber stopper/bumpers, the front engine skid, and the antenna.

Your 4R interior's very clean.
I forgot the word 'clean' in my previous post, but you got it.
